Atmosphere/drum/singing/chants - Home Game

Hello wings fans/family.

I have been coming to welling united for many years and have help out around the ground in past years As many of you have and are continuing doing and hats off to everyone past and present. There has been many up and downs over the many years that I have been following the club. many ideas have been come up with on and off the pitch some have worked and some were absolute disasters and many can agree with me. this season though we are looking really good from what I have seen and read. Things are looking on the up but cant get too carried away!

this actually comes me to my point of what is people opinion about the drum? I feel like its very mixed emotions about it. is it making an atmosphere? i know some people like it and some people dont and thats fine. Personally I dont have a problem with it but the only thing is bugging me about it the poor lad tries to make noise the whole game to try and get the place bouncing and people singing and suporting the team with pride Weather we WIN/LOSE/DRAW!

Im all for the drum but do people know the songs/chants? Everyone knows the basic ones like come on welling we are wings there is loads more but we only sing the same few songs. We definitely need a few more new ones and I have heard a few that I like but no one knows them yet.

Is it worth making something like a print out or something available online so people can learn the song/chants and give the poor drummer some support to bring an atmosphere to support the boys after a bright start.

Would definitely make it a different matchday experience if everyone was singing/chanting from all 4 coners of the ground. Let make PVR somewhere teams dont want to travel and let make a noise doing it on and off the pitch.

Anyone agree? Just interested to get other peoples views and opinions on it.

Personal opinion, I dont like the drum much. At this level, in smaller stadiums and with fewer fans, it becomes very noticeable and is disproportionately loud. But if this is the direction of travel, I concur with you that some fresh material and a bit more interaction from more of the crowd would make it at least feel like an integral part than an add-on.

The occasional drum roll is fine but the continuous beating of the drum ruins the atmosphere for me - just saying

Drums are not my cup of tea. However we need to encourage younger fans in now ready to carry on supporting the wings once most of us here are on the great pitch in the sky. The youngsters seem to enjoy the drum and I think it does spur the team on, therefore I will have to support them. I do agree with Jack we could do with knowing some of the chants that now occur.
