With thanks to Mark Yarrow, the leadership team and the bar team, two real ales are going up for the Wingate / Cheshunt home double-header.
These will be:
Two by Two Superdelic Citra New England Pale (4.6%) - an oatmeal / wheat pale for a thick mouthfeel with a hefty dose of Superdelic and Citra hops for mango, lime zest, red berry, grapefruit and lychee notes.
Kent Brewery's Kent Golding Bitter (4.1%) - East Kent Goldings and Fuggles sit atop a base of varying malts, with the result of a lovely mid-toffee coloured Bitter, earthiness and a touch of spice. Proper Kentish beer.
These will be on sale in the marquee, and are subject to availability, so pop in at gates opening and enjoy what will be exceptionally fresh beer - the best in town!

Thanks to everyone who participated yesterday. As if it should be a surprise, the Two by Two Pale was gone as the marquee was prepared for the private hire, and the said private hire was allowed to keep going at the bitter should they wish, so we'll see what's left when we turn up on Tuesday.
A big note of thanks again to the club for letting us experiment (I think it went well so fingers crossed we get to do it again), and also to the sponsors of the casks who allowed us to 'tip the balance' of risk in such a way that it made it a financial success.
Mark Yarrow and I had a discussion, and I think he's got a lot to be thanked for as well as he's been tenacious on this. The general belief is that a good blend of local (e.g. Bexley, Kent, Tonbridge) and further afield (Two by Two is Newcastle) beers gives us all some intrigue and some enjoyment, and keeps things fresh. I will update on a game-by-game basis as we move along with what's coming, and depending on how busy we think we will be it might lead to two beers or one.
The three old settees that were thrown out of the local boudoir also added to the all round match day ambiance. Or were they there as a prop for the later private hire function? Maybe there was a 70s porn shoot being cast.

I actually quite like them! One thing that I would say, however, is there does seem to be a lack of circulation space around the bar once drinks have been bought when the tables are full - not sure how to deal with that, mind.
Saturday 26th September, FA Trophy vs Chertsey, a cask of Kent Brewery Amplifire (a hazy pale of NZ and US hop types) has been procured. General suggestion on Untappd so far (only 28 check-ins) is that it's a rather good one.

This is now settling nicely, and is being treated with the great care it deserves. Thanks to Ray especially for his dashing in and out and changing ice over so it keeps its hoppy goodness and doesn't incubate any excess warmth!
Just as an aside, the £20 cask sponsorship is something that is a great option for local small businesses, sole traders, or even if you want to club together and help out by four people putting a fiver in each. Some great new local businesses are sponsoring the Whyteleafe casks, but if you want to get involved drop me / Mark Yarrow a line and I will gladly artwork up the sponsorship to sit on the front of the cask.
The current line-up for Whyteleafe, on the basis that there is the quiz night the night before and also the England v Croatia is a brand new Pentrich (great brewery) hazy pale with Australian hops called Murder House, and a different but very good Kent Brewery Bitter called Old Skool.
Green hop season is upon us, so by the time we get to Burgess Hill / Leatherhead in the league home back-to-back, hopefully there will be plenty to enjoy.
Finally, whilst I appreciate it can always be a nice idea to head to a different local pub, or Micropub, please keep the club in your thoughts before and after games. I like saving pubs, drinking in pubs and such as much as the next man (and was stupid enough to open one!); but each penny from cask beer in the marquee could add to the playing budget, update facilities, and let the club grow.
With that, I hope to see you all bright and early on Saturday for some Kent Amplifire and what might be a decent Trophy win!
Gates are scheduled to open at 13:00 on Saturday, and I will make sure to undertake some 'quality checking' just before as I also double-check the programme's smoothness and vibrancy. Reminder that Kent Amplifire is this week's sole cask, sponsored by Loyalty & Remembrance Lodge.
Next Saturday, October 3rd for Whyteleafe, please keep an eye on the club website and social media feeds in respect of opening times as I believe there's some charity bake sale stuff going on, and a community open day (?), and those two casks are now nailed on. Pentrich 'Murder House' Antipodean hazy pale sponsored by The Westwood on Bellegrove Road; and Kent Old Skool Bitter sponsored by Village Wines in Bexley. Thanks to both of those local businesses for their support, it is genuinely appreciated.
Attention basically now turns to possibilities for the Leatherhead / Burgess Hill home double. I think the right beers have been procured for that, we will have to wait and see...

No idea about a community day but according to clubs official posts gates open at 13.00 tomorrow for MacMillan cake sale.
Looks like a total sell out yesterday on beer, and also I'm led to understand barely any programmes were left.
I'll be settling two fresh casks tomorrow morning, ready for Saturday and Whyteleafe, as well as Quiz Night.
If any of you want to sponsor a cask for Burgess Hill / Leatherhead, please let me know. There will be some very, very nice beers available and it's going to be a great couple of games, I'm sure.
