I beg to differ and that may be due to a difference in our criteria for evaluating the Forum.

I have just completed an evaluation of the main forum during the last 6 weeks (i.e. discounting the initial turmoil when I took over the Forum) and the facts are:

Threads started 58 which equates to 1.3 per day
Posts made 179 which equates to 4.3 per day
Viewing of posts 9128 which equates to 217.8 per day
New registrations 6 minimum (I didn’t note the number of users at 15 May)
Active Registered Users 40
Anonymous users I cannot measure but on several occasions I have noticed 5 or 6 guests online.

It is not the best used Independent Fans Forum but it is by no means the worst.

Of course I would like to have a higher level of active participation and would like to see names such as Russ, BGB, Spitey, White Socks, Danson Mark or even Cloud Warrior take the forum under my moderation as a new start and participate but if it ain’t gonna happen there’s now’t I can do about it. It’s sad that some feel that they can’t participate for whatever reason but that’s life.

Equally important to me personally is the Youth Forum where despite having a more limited audience (though this doesn’t have to be the case and it is growing) there have been 18 posts and 374 views during the period. With the start of the new season, the formation of Welling United Youth and no ‘baggage’ there is plenty of scope for this to increase substantially.

I personally don’t accept the statement “that there are people posting who are hellbent on ruining whatever we have.” What I do accept is that there is one contributor who has his own fairly unique views on some specific matters and his way of expressing them is not mine but that does not make him hellbent on ruining anything. Its a pity that the responses to his postings are not kept factual since when they become personal (admittedly on occasion responding in the vein of his posting though by no stretch of the imagination exclusively) it tends to lead to a further degeneration of the situation to the extent that points being made by any of the parties involved in the exchange becomes lost. In the scheme of things I have to say that he has made far more non controversial postings than the ones to which I presume are being referred.
