That wasnt a dig either. Bertie Brayley is late 20s, diminutive striker/midfielder. Played and scored in an fa youth cup final for West Ham. And could be a bit like Keds in that More clubs than Jack Nicklaus BUT Adie and Phil can mollycoddle him into settling down as they have with great success with Keds.
Bertie has played with Swindon Town in the League and also has been all over the non league scene. He would be a cert for goals can drop into midfield and would be a first team player.
Upfront we would look ok, Just the midfield then that needs sorting with a center midfielder and a left winger needed plus a utility man in defence. He has been released by Trotty at Magate

JGFC, I take it from your posting then that Che and Bods are not signing/been released?
Havent got a clue about wether Che or Bods will be at PVR. Just heard that Brayley is being targeted. ONE of Bods or Che may have to go. Apparantly Hornchurch are after Brayley too.
I think it would be a great signing. Can you imagine Keds, Brayley and Bods upfront. frightening.
Its tough for Adie , he needs to bring players in BUT still has to let some go. If he doesnt offer a contract people will leave. Midfield looks shi_te and upfront is understrength. We need cover at the back too and have only lost players. Never mind eh first game is in less than a week and theyve been training for days.
Its all going Pete Tong (although he will say great pre season, trialists doing well, in talks with loads etc etc.)
Weve only got about 6 on contract.

Don't panic, Captain Mainwaring!! I think you'll get a pleasant surprise when you see some of the talent making a show on Saturday. Be prepared to be entertained.

Joe...
That maybe your idea of a pleasant surprise but we demand a little better than a pile of crap lower league players joing then getting stuffed by mighty beckenham...
Like i said LOWER LEAGUE cast offs dont challenge for the conference. Like i said the club will win nothing, like i said HOBBINS OUT as they just take the (rhymes with kiss) out of the fans.
First 6 games i think we will have 2 points. Anyone who saw us go from top till 9th and listened to Ade say we will have a right go nect year... what have you got to say to that? Profitable season and then this, players leave the club and the club brings in failures from 2 leagues lower.
Come on people, they may give a foto opprotunity or a sausage roll or bag of nuts, that does not MEAN YOU CANNOT DISCUSS THE HAPPENINGS.
1 Are you happy at losing players of this standard and getting CHAFF from 2 leagues lower.
2 Are you happy not one quality TARGETED signing has come in
3 Are you expecting a finish ANYWHERE in the top half (you can have 6/4!!)
4 Who do you blame , Ade or Statler and Waldorf?? (you cant blame Adie imo as i believe he would bring in some half decent players.
5 Well i did say that the Hobbits wouldnt go for it and are taking the p. Heres another prediction. The club will be in new owners hands inside 2 years. With the Hobbins moving out [edited bruno]
Hobbins hang your head in shame pal, this is a disgrace!
Anyone who accepts whats going on, i hope that brown stuff tastes nice!
Dont wanna say i told you so but.... i told you so.
Go on slag me off, but you cant say i wasnt right.
SHAMBLES and more fool those who were lied to who bought season tickets.
Russ, matt et all... wheres your tongues gone?? You accept this?? Mugs!
"Are you happy at losing players of this standard and getting CHAFF from 2 leagues lower."
To the best of my knowledge the situation is thus Out of contract players not released Perkins – position unknown Carthy – will either retire or play for Welling United Bodkin – on 2nd trial at the Gills Stadhart – I believe has attended pre season
Players released Owen – not yet signed with another club Ashby – not yet signed with another club Gledhill – moved down 2 divisions Pinnock – moved down a division
The fact that with of exception of Bods who is looking to a first division signing and Carthy who has said if he plays it will be for Welling, none of the above have gone to Conference South or above Clubs would indicate that perhaps they are not of Conference South standard, are retiring, or maybe want too much money.
We have signed Boateng, Vines (about who you have apparently heard favourable reports according to a previous posting!) from Bromley, 1 division below, and Hyde from Dover (as goalkeeping coach and back up to JT) 2 divisions below.
Ade is still out looking and I’m sure has at least one or two potential signings.
"Are you happy not one quality TARGETED signing has come in" and "Who do you blame , Ade or Statler and Waldorf?? (you cant blame Adie imo as i believe he would bring in some half decent players."
IMHO players demanding (through their agents in many cases) £400-£500 pw at this level of football are the ones taking the p**s. From what I’ve read about some 2nd Division clubs that or very little over it, is all they would get. It really is time for a reality check but all the while there are those with money wanting to boost their egos by throwing cash at clubs the players will naturally grab all that they can. Perhaps if a few more clubs got their fingers burnt like Hornchurch we would get back to a situation where players were paid more realistic wages.
"Are you expecting a finish ANYWHERE in the top half (you can have 6/4!!)"
If I were a betting man I’d take you on.
If you are so confident we won’t finish top half how about just giving me a ton if you are wrong?
"Heres another prediction. The club will be in new owners hands inside 2 years."
I disagree
"Dont wanna say i told you so but.... i told you so."
… and the season hasn’t even started!!!
"SHAMBLES and more fool those who were lied to who bought season tickets."
One of the things about supporting a club is that you don’t do it just because they are successful. Sure you enjoy the good times but you also endure the lean times. That is not to say that we just accept the lean times without making our views known but the bottom line is we are come back season after season.

Vines and Boateng are ryman 1 players who previously failed at this level. Both were released by Bromley. So we get bromleys cast offs.
Spin it how you want Bruno, look at last season uptil xmas , then the money brought in and look at the happenings since then.
THEN tell me all is ok and the Hobbins are doing a good job, then tell me you will throw bucketloads of cash at them.
OK so Pennock and the Hobbins cant attract conf south standard players, go get the kids released out the league then.
Hobbins dont wanna know bruno! 20 years 2 years better than 9th place. top last year down to 9th, TELL ME bruno, where are the club going for it this season as they said they would?
Im just waiting for Russ and his mates to go back to their opinions well published and spoken of the hobbins, but will they carry weight as they sold their opinions out when joining the club in bed for some preferential treatment in exchange for "Mr Hobbins is a nice man lets raise him some money he can not spend on the team"
Welling in big danger of relegation, We are a club that exists not challenges and second best is accepted and the players know this after last seasons next year comment when we were top!
SHAMBLES, Adie get out while you can mate, dont hang around if its going Pete Tong, thanks for trying.
I just fail to comprehend such negativity before the season even starts. The signings we have made have yet to kick a ball with any purpose, and other signings are, I’m sure, being pursued.
The first team squad were at Beckenham Town on Saturday watching those who presumably had asked for a trial with the club and were being given a run out. I don’t know what they, Ade and Phil made of the performances but nobody caught my eye as being someone extra special but perhaps anyone making the trip to Herne Bay tonight will find out if any are getting further matches to prove themselves.
We have some quality players in our squad (and if Saturday is anything to go by there is a great team spirit) and if they were not committed to Ade and the Club they would have walked in the close season rather than sign contract extensions. They are going for it and at the end of the day it is them who will determine where we finish. We need to play our part in helping them by getting behind them and Ade in each 90 minutes they play - win, lose or draw.
Honest post-match comments, based on the actual performances, of course continuing to be the order of the day on the Forum.

Vines has never 'failed' at any level. Get your facts straight. He was an influential player in Lewes' promotion when he played for them. He has won numerous awards in his time at Bromley. He was not released - he chose to go elsewhere. Have you ever seen him play? He is a good, solid defender - good in the air, pacey, and the one you can rely on to make that great tackle. Don't abuse players that you've never seen play.
