What an embarrassment this "supporter" is to your club.
On the Rymans Fans Forum he had continually insulted Dover and now he is starting on Crawley and AFCWimbledon.
He is giving Welling a VERY bad name.
Here's a typical post from him on Crawley "Maybe i was a TAD harsh, but they are a small club, punched above their weight (Even at southern league level) and after 2 years in the Conference theyve gone tits up...
Why should we be sorry? They had a nice ground, they havent had to pay for, why couldnt they market the club.. Oh i know, lets but Darryl Clare for 60k and give him 1k a week,
They screwed it, as did Dover, the fans of non league bailed out Dover and they are back over spending. Why the feck should ppl give a toss about creepy or contribute, and forget their pinko lefty petitions too.
Hope the fold."
Sorry to post this on here but I thought you should know Stuart, Non league groundhopper
Stuart, I contemplated shoving this under the carpet using editorial control on the basis that it would most likely become yet another anti JgFc thread. Instead I will offer a response and keep my eye on the thread which will close if it degenerates into a slagging match.
Is this some kind of Crusade because if it is JgFc is by no means unique among those contributing to football forums or those who standing on the terraces every week. It is living in 'cloud cuckoo land' to expect that all supporters behave like angels and to speak or post only a pre approved text.
The expression of often uniquely held views always poses a problem for a Club. In my opinion though it has to be said that anyone forming an opinion of a Club based on the unique views of an individual and not those of the vast majority is clutching at straws to substantiate an argument they want to put forward.
Posts such as that quoted (which sometimes contain elements of truth which people would rather ignore) pose a problem for forum moderators too. Depending on the moderator’s personal philosophy such a post could lead to banning the poster, deleting the post, leaving the post untouched or editing it. The Crawley moderator obviously took the line of leaving the posting intact where I would probably have edited out the last line on the basis that it was inflammatory.
Of course we would all be much happier if such unsporting terms as ‘hope you fold’ were not expressed be it on a forum, on the terraces, or in the pub but that’s life.
Over many, many years of watching football I have seen far worse at grounds than a supporter expressing his view on situations that have happened and wishing ill on a club. Let's keep the matter in perspective.
