Eastleigh have reduced the admission for both the Hayes and Welling games to £5 Adults, £3 Students and OAP, with Under 16s being admitted free.

Having read about this on the Eastleigh website it says something about money off vouchers so, does anyone know if this is this a promotion for just locals or for everybody attending.

All spectators who went to the pre season friendly against Oxford were given a £2 off voucher for the opening home fixture against Hayes, thus anyone with a voucher will, as I understand it, get at an even higher discounted rate of £3.

The reduced price admission for the opening 2 games is an attempt by Eastleigh to get Southampton fans to attend their matches when Southampton are away or not playing, much as we tried to do with Charlton fans last season. There are no published exclusions so Welling fans would get in for £5.

Eastleigh are obviously intent on reproducing a similar increase in crowd attendances to that which they made last year (23%) and the signing of 2 former Saints is also presumably part of their strategy. I have no idea what they are paying Dodds and Benali but signing popular players from a local League side to tempt the League side fans down to the Silverlake Stadium is an interesting move.

Looking at their website they look to be very organised and proactive in their PR and if there is any justice they deserve to achieve their goal.
