I hope that people this season will support events and offer help as we can only do so much and the people who give up a lot of time to organise and run events deserve YOU THE SUPPORTERS TO SUPPORT US!
The invite to monthly meetings is always there and we are always looking for more people to help we all have full time jobs so everything we do is done in our spare time so bear with us as we are trying our best FOR YOU THE SUPPORTERS.
Each match day there is a raffle and the 49 club with prizes to be won.
Quiz nites will return in September and we hope to have a sportsmans evening in November and the end of season presentation in April which was a great success LAST YEAR will return PLUS WE HOPE TO HAVE ANOTHER LEGENDS NITE.
I also openly invite any true wings fan to come along to our next meeting on THURSDAY 7TH SEPTEMBER and get involved.
Will you be paying the next star guest £1000 NOT to turn up? and cancelling the evening? Or donating money to the club (for a player that never signed) that isnt announced? Until it is run democratically and not just self promoted committee that lose money then it wont work Spud.
Did the WSU pay for World Net? What have the WSU done that has benefitted all of the fans not just a select group of insiders? What have the WSU paid for recently at PVR and what do they plan to do with the remaining few grand in the kitty?
Will the WSU site ever be updated with minutes and latest news and events etc, this doesnt show the WSU in a good light i'm afraid if people cannot see what is being done.
Also one of your number and "main men" posts on here under another name and 80% of their posts have been stirring and abusive and in a know it all attitude. We both know who that is, and whilst i understand he has been told to pack it in, it demonstrates that the WSU has people involved who start abuse and widen the divides and lack of support for the WSU
Will you also be covering behind the goal as was the intention of the Organisation. Facts are WSU events are poorly attended and have been cancelled and i cannot see any change at all until it is truly open.
Well done for the end of year evening, that looked to be a great success, they always were good nights in the past and well done for doing it well.
Could you tell us why Steve Holly resigned from the WSU too. There are obviously problems with the WSU as outlined above.
PLEASE NOTE Spud, this isnt an abusive post just trying to clarify a few points.

First the 49 club is very simple you pay £2 for one number up to 49 if that number is drawn as the bonus ball you win £50 with £48 going to the WSU if all numbers are not sold and one of those numbers are drawn then it all goes in to the WSU funds.
As i said before people give up a lot of spare time to help the WSU and Steve Holley probabley more than others the only reasons he has step down is because of the amount of time he was commiting as chairman and that maybe a freash view was what was needed THERE IS NO PROBLEM WITH THE WSU APART FROM MORE SUPPORTERS SUPPORTING WHAT WE ARE TRYING TO DO.
The reason i joined the WSU was because i wanted a covered end and raise funds to improve the ground FOR US SUPPORTERS, that wont happen over night AND WE ARE LOOKING AT COSTING AND PLANS TO COVER THE ROAD END but this is a long term goal.
When we have been asked to make a contribution towards players we have discussed this as a group (which again i add is open for all wings supporters to attend) before making a final decision this is a benefit to supporters as we all want a winning side then we also paid for the coaches last season to get us to away games in the cup run and league games this was for the benefit of YOU THE SUPPORTERS.
When we talk about money in the kitty WUISA have over £3000 sitting there what do they plan to do with that which would benefit the supporters?
I would agree that information on WSU website has been slow to be put on but as i said we are all giving up our own time and sometimes other things have priority which is why we have restructured to have more defined roles and hope to have a more fluid operation in the future.
We wasnt to know that the FA would change the Charlton game to a Thursday which meant that we had to cancel an event, as the night would have been a major loss and our hands were tied but its not often that things go wrong and this was out of our control COME ON WHO THOUGHT CHARLTON WOULD MAKE AN FA QUARTER! We have had lots of successful Sportsman evenings( Barry Fry, Alex Stepney & Peter Osgood) and the Legends evening which was enjoyed by WINGS supporters young and old.
How successful was the end of season presentation and we now have a regular presence at the Danson Festival promoting the name of Welling Utd Football club and the Community scheme so people know that its not just Charlton as their major team in the area.
Now im one of the "BEHIND THE GOAL" group and it upsets me that we are spoken of getting special treatment from people from the club, yes we talk to the Hobbins and chat to players & Manager but when you go every game and they see you there its normal to chat to them and for them to appreciate your support its not many who go Newport on a Wednesday nite 4days after a trip to Blyth so THERE IS NO SPECIAL TREATMENT JUST THANKS FOR OUR SUPPORT.
As regards ANON posts i have no idea who is doing it as im normally the first to tell them to shut the **** up AND THATS THE TRUTH.
Hope ive answer all questions but if you want to private message me do so as we dont want to have the forum turning into an open slagging off session AS WHAT NORMALLY HAPPENS.
Well played Spud - simple straight answers to the issues raised.
I had begun to wonder why you had not replied as it seemed a bit out of character.
As you can imagine for obvious reasons I'm the last one to want another batch of slagging off posts but there are a couple of points I would like to make which I hope can be aired without that situation arising.
As the WSU has restructured to have more defined roles perhaps these could be discussion points for you as well as the forum.
Firstly, as you are aware I do not attend WSU meetings and this is because of my personally held views about the 'ad hoc' nature of the group. Basically I believe that to protect all concerned any regular fund raising should be undertaken by an organised membership body because this brings about the enforced accountability of those acting in the name of the body. One off events to raise funds are a different case but since WSU is an ongoing fund raising body I believe it should be membership based and accountable. I appreciate that this puts additional responsibilities on those who are already hard pressed but making the WSU a membership body with a constitution may bring in others to ease that burden.
The WSU website is, I would suggest, the main ongoing promotional resource available to the group. As such should it not be a priority? It can become a bit of a circular argument about taking time away from the organisation of events if you've a mind to but surely the more promotion you can get the more chance there is of better attendances/support.
Combining the above points if the WSU were a membership body surely the website would become a focal point for members (and those with an interest) to see what events etc are coming up and news of what their contibutions have been used for etc. I for example was not aware of the involvement in the funding of players and whilst information like this is not widely publicised WSU are surely shooting themselves in the foot. Some may take the view that if you don't come to our meetings its none of your affair but I would suggest that WSU is missing the boat by not shouting from the rooftops about what it is doing. Participation in the Danson Festival may bring attention to the WSU for a couple of days but where is the follow up?
I believe I have always been positive and recognised the efforts of the WSU despite my non participation and I hope the points I have made are taken in the same vein as they are made - constructively.

SUPPORT US DONT FIGHT US
SPUD
1 49 `club good idea..
2 Steve holley resigned for other reasons . Money was evapourating ....The WSU is self made up and self elected committee, people will not join as the foundations are set.
3 the money given to adie was for a player Spud, he never signed.. The supporters coaches (bar huddersfield) were mainly used by the inner sanctum of the WSU and surprise when the supporters team had a game.
4 you gave Tommy Smith £950 NOT to turn up!! Becuse it sold a handful of tickets...
5 £3000 in kitty?? Hmmmmmm well i was told there was more in there after the £950 lost on one event and the few grand given to Adie for a play who never signed.
6 Well done on Danson
7 For all supporters benefit?? No for the inner sanctum. I decided to pay 300 for huddresfield in trains/accommodation and spends rather than go for £15 on an association i didnt believe in and had criticisced SEE JgFC DOES HAVE PRINCIPLES AND ISNT TWO FACED!! WHEN IT SUITS HIM
8 SPUD you know who the anons are and when one revealed his OTHER name you lot told him to pack it in... M*** F*****?? / Harvey ....Deny it!! And as one midget is russes special friend you will be well aware that he has been particularly irritating and abusive Come on spud, you are doing well just take some of the spin off....
9 Can i also add that you have some self elected people who are abusive and not good at raising funds/being innovative etc.
10 The WSU most definitely has problems. I can see that YOU Spud are a decent chap, there are some connected who are abusive lazy arseholes mate. THE WSU as it is, is dead in the water. So years since starting theres 3k in the kitty . The problem the WSU has is ..... No one can come in when its established by a few of the inner sanctum who have decided they are on the committee etc. I was told its on its absolute knees, by another person like you that wants the club to progress, an association for the fans and who is in the inner sanctum of the WSU.
SPUD please take this however you want... The Inner sanctum gave away their right to criticise by taking a higher standing with the Club. The inner sanmctum are too close to the club.
There are people who are decent but there are bad eggs who seem to be swept under the carpet. People will not support the WSU the events are really badly supported as can be seen from attendances. And you coming on here in CAPS saying "We deserve your support"
Quite simply NO you dont Spud, You bullied your way in smashing an association out the wa with abuse and slanders, Elected yourself, look after yourselves, Give money to the club and lose money on events. MAYBE things can change, but to say the WSU is not in trouble is laughable.
PS i kinda like you, you seem a decent fan with little or few agendas unfortunately there are some who are the opposite. And frankly they are welcomed and possibly encouraged

Also theres nearly 5k in WUISA and thats been on the back burner for ages ...
So what is better for the club by way of fundraising WUISA or WSU who raised more money, who had more events and better attended events.
I therefore put it to Spud, that far be it from the WSU to be helping they have infact made things worse, NOT only in having poorly attended meetings/events, NOT only in giving money to the club!!, Not only having abusive members, NOT only being self elected BUT in stopping a highly effective association from raising significant funds.
WSU is dead mate, i was also told they were changing their name again. Also youre right the website is a joke, some pages not been updated for over a year... Another reason why people never reslly supported the WSU.

I never said the WSU had £3000 I SAID THAT I HEARD wuisa had over £3000 sitting there in the bank so i think that you should read what i wrote again.
There were never supporters games when we had coaches.
New chairwoman has only been on the commitee since January and coming to Welling since last October and she read the advert in the programme and then started coming to meetings. Which i believe goes to show this is not a closed shop and people are welcome.
As regards all your other statements that is your opinion as i said I dont lie and have spoken the truth if you choose not to believe me then thats your choice and i say to you that your mole maybe is also stiring you up mate as the WSU is far from being on its knees but football is all about opinions and you can have yours.
I have always said that people are welcome to come along and ask any questions they like. Next meeting is 7th September 7.30pm

Just to clarify, the WUISA offered assistance to the supporters' team; the supporters' team had not asked for assistance prior to this.
The reason for this was that the WUISA thought it would be money well spent in furthering relations between Welling and other clubs.
