Who wants to play for Welling United?

Gabriel Odunaike for one and he must have ensured that Aide keeps a close eye on his continuing development after his performance on Wednesday night against Cray Wanderers.

I got the opportunity to have a quick chat with Gabriel about his experience on Wednesday. His immediate comment was "It was a Different class". He went on to say that he was itching to get onto the pitch and show what he could do.

When I asked him what he remembered about scoring his first goal on his debut in the LSC his immediate response was "Everything, Chris (Dunphy) passed the ball to me, I turned saw the keeper was going to the left so I shot right."

When asked about his ambition he said "I hope to get picked for more games, I want to play for Welling United."

Well Gabs you have six months in which to make your claim and it won't be easy but I, among many others I would imagine, hope you achieve your ambition.

I'm sure that to a man the other Under 18's who played on Wednesday and justified their selection also share the ambition to become part of the first team squad and that their team mates not selected are just as ambitious and will be pushing hard for the chance to stake their claim, particularly Jack who was the unlucky sub and Rishi who was unavailable for selection due to an injury.
