GH is the bloke I feel sorry for out of all this. At the end of the game I saw him walking around the pitch,  Colin the groundsman was with him but starting to do his bit for the grass. GH looked absolutley gutted, he got all he asked for, the supporters were really behind the team from the start and we put out the same team that had thumped in five goals the previous week. The bloke is obviously passionate about the club but he must rue the loss of £10k+ and the possibility of an advert for the club as Charlton were away. The crowd was 800+ and we had a great chance of more revenue.

I dont blame Ade either, its the players who didnt turn up. Its Monday morning and I still feel pig sick, I guess he must feel the same

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one still down in the dumps - I've been miserable all weekend

We just have to make sure we win on Sat - it could be a make or break game as far as our season is concerned and it is a must win.

Sorry but i cannot feel sorry for Hobbins, He did not spend any of the vast Cup money last season and indeed reduced Adrian's budget ,meaning he had to sign players from lower league teams and weakened the team. Hobbins must take as much, if not more blame than the players. People need to remain sensible here. If he never spent any cash after a great season, why on earth would he have done any different this season?

NOW is the time to increase budget and give Adrian and Phil a boost.

Ridiculous comment

So you think the money is sitting in the bank eh?

It paid off debts from previous seasons as discussed at the meet the manager evening

I agree with MarkX.  I've said this before, but I don't see how supporters can surmise how much the club has in the bank without being privy to the club accounts (which have not yet been published for last season, but will be available to all when they are).

I don't think a lack of budget is an issue this season as we're fifth in the league.  We didn't get knocked out the the cup because of lack of budget, rather because most players didn't perform up to the stardard that they're capable of.

Moo , i have to disagree. Lack of budget not an issue? We are playing players out of position (Guesty, Perks) And cannot bring in any players as the budget is used (i would imagine)

We are missing out on players because of the budget, thats a fact so it is an issue.

Reasonable point about commenting on finances even though i think they havent spent nearly enough of what they could. Baring in mind Welling have always been thought of as running on a tight budget i cant see how they had to use up ALL of last years cup profits on previous seasons where theyve lost money.

I agree you cant just slate them for binning the dosh, BUT you cant just take what they say and swallow it all. I mean please, who is going to stand up at a meet the manager and question them on previous years losses that have never been mentioned before.

Why oh why couldnt people discuss things adult like on here before? At least now people seem able to post opinions and reasoning so thats a step forward.

I think Adi and Phil have put a very good squad together.Thay are as he has said quite young so we will have ups and downs until he has weaved his magic and consistancy takes over.

Lets get real fifth in the table and ten games or so unbeaten.Yes it is painful for all to lose including the players but thay will learn from it so we must get behind them even on a bad day.We should save our moans and groans for the pub or bus on the way home.

Lets hope we get back to winning ways on Saturday.

James
