WELLING boss Adrian Pennock has told summer recruit Akwasi Edusei that he can leave the club on a free transfer.
Edusei, who only moved to Park View Road in the summer after being released by League 1 Gillingham, has struggled for form and fitness.
He scored twice in Tuesday night's 3-0 Kent Senior Cup win over Dartford - his only goals for the club - but after 11 first-team appearances Edusei is no longer part of Pennock's long-term plans.
The news came after Pennock released defender Ronayne Benjamin. The left-sided player had been keeping Leon Solomon out of the starting line-up but the Wings boss has let him go.
Pennock added: "I've been pleased with some of his performances on the pitch but other things have happened that I haven't been pleased with."
A bit of surprise in terms of who is leaving PVR - not the two I would have thought.
Off field issues brought about the decision on Benjamin. From my observation of the way Aide handles things this sounds like Benjamin has failed to take Aide's advice about his conduct or attitude and bearing in mind his age and pedigree it may well have been the latter. I always find it a great shame when off field events bring about a good footballers departure from a side as in this case.
A case of too little too late for Kwasi it seems. Aide's comment about struggling to find fitness and form must beg questions of a 19/20 year old who has represented his country and played in the first division. Shame as I liked the look of him and thought once he settled he would prove an asset.
Aide has shown in the past that he will not step back from hard decisions and whilst these decisions may have come as a bit of a surprise it reflects his desire for success and that can only be to Welling's good.

Shame but i dont know whats gone on so cant comment. Akwasi and Ronayne must have been shipped out to bring some players in. IF Ronayne has done something off the pitch then i fully respect Adrian's actions. Im surprised about Akwasi, I would have thought there were others who could have been released a left sided midfielder (NOT Bods) for example.
I smell a Boothy!! Coming. In time for keds going. Adie is pro active which is a huge positive and we should get behind him and back his judgements.
I would like to thank Ronayne and Akwasi for there efforts for Welling and wish them luck in finding a club quickly.

I too thought Akwasi would come good in the end, but to be fair it's taken a while to see any form.
Surprised at Benjamin, but clearly issues off the pitch. Was decent cover for Leon....I just hope we get a decent right-back in asap - with all due respect I think Mark Goodfellow is nigh on useless.
It is not unheard of for players transfer listed to stay the latest example in our neck of the woods being Jonah who was taken off of the list at Folkestone and there is always the scenario that nobody comes in for a listed player but realistically in the light of Aide's comment that he does not feature in his long term plans the writing is on the wall.
As I said earlier I think it is a shame but if you are not doing the job you were brought in to do, in Kwasi's case score goals, there is only one direction and that is out.
