Welling United will complete the signing of forward Steve Harper this week from Thurrock. Harper watched the win over Bishop's Stortford last weekend and looks set to be a Wings player in time for Saturday. Moving the other way is John Guest who has joined Dartford on a 1 month loan with a view to a permanent move.
Hopefully another good acquisition by Ade and Phil. Shame to see Guesty (what looks like) on his way out. I always thought he done very well for us.
I would assume that the signing of a forward is a replacement for Adusei, but more likely that its insurance that Keds is on his way in January.
Likewise I've always thought that Guesty has done a good job for us but I have much preferred it when he was doing the job of a centre half. This means if I'm right thats leaves Leon and Mark Goodfellow as our full backs. Mark is on his way to playing to his potential and this is great news as I have in the past also been one of his critics. Leon is obviously approaching full fitness but I cant help thinking that this does leave us a bit thin across the back.
Still Ade knows what he is doing based on his previous dealings and I'm sure that he has made the right moves
I think most of us are a bit gutted to see Guesty go.He did ok at left back better at right back and because he had a bit more pace than the other central defenders had to cover for injuries in both positions.When the full backs returned the centre half slots were sorted so ended up sat around waiting.
I think besides Keds the only offer we have had for money for a player is Guesty.So it helps with the money to find Keds replacement before January when he I think will go.I do think we are now very light on cover at the back we`ll see.
