Some great comments from their "fans" on their forum include

Crap ground, Bloddy Awful (sic), Mediocre, but the best is an excerpt from this clown below...

Two final comments - first on Welling United. I've always enjoyed my visits there in the past but they were a shambles tonight. The pitch (shared with Erith & Belvedere) was awful and didn't appear to have been marked out prior to the game - the lines were barely visible. Admission cost £10 and there were no concessions for people who are unemployed. The one, tiny food stall ran out of everything but drinks and sweets five minutes into the half-time interval. The narrow, crumbling terraces behind the goal at the top end were ankle deep in slippery, rotting leaves. Either the club is in financial trouble and cutting coners or it is just very badly run.

well said everyone, flattering scoreline, Bognor better side in first half, only bad luck and fortunate defending stopped the lads going in 2-0 up, how he never gave the penalty against luke i,ll never know. We started off a bit slow in 2nd half and were caught napping for the 1st goal from a free kick. From then on it was all up hill in more ways than one as the pitch looked to be 10ft higher from one end to the other.
First time i,ve managed to get to welling , seems to be run by a miserable, unfriendly, and poor sort of person, full of asbo seeking chavs. The poor bloke in the burger bar was ok, he seemed a bit lost though when a welling fan asked him for a cheese burger, with no meat in it.
Got the impression it was a Lewes sort of place £10 to get in £2 for a crap advert ridden prog.

Only took a couple of hours to get home, and all the way i kept thinking we may have lost 3-0 but at least i dont have to live in that dump of a place and i,d rather support the Rocks every week and not the Wings (what sort of nickname is that for a team).

I cant wait to read Russ' report, Im sure he has some witty put down to hush their gums down at Bognor. What kind of club has a Manager for 107 years, never wins anything by playing a passing game and has moaning whingeing sour faced muppets for fans, (Clue its in Sussex and Welling thrashed them last night!)

You should see what they're saying on their own messageboard:

"Welling away next year, whos up for it?"

"i 'll go. But can we take our ground with us?"

Numpties!

How about next year they bring some subs with them too?

do you think it's worth pointing out that its autumn and the ground is next to a park with lots of trees in which tend to shed their leaves this time of year? Or that it's been pissing down for the last few days before the game.

No thought not

Personally i thought that the pitch had a few leaves on and was soggy but the grass was short so bognor could play their total football. I think they should change their kit to dutch orange they way they bang on about their football

People only slag you off if they oppo if you doing well, lets hope they all slag us off. Ive never heard Welling's pitch slated before and only last week Adie said the pitch is superb.

I dont know what they expected maybe the council will lend us one of those vacuumers that suck up the leaves? It is coming from their park after all. Maybe something Graham will ask council about, Are the council liable if someone slips and breaks a club? I did read  something about the club not responsible if someone is injured at PVR.

Its a council owned ground so get them to give us one of the Leaf machines, simple.

Im glad that the team and the managers are getting reactions like this out the oppo. Now lets stuff Newport.

To put it simply it is my view that what is probably a minority (based on having spent the second half within feet of their support during the second half) of the Bognor suporters let their team down with their comments. Yes there may well have been leaves leaves on the park end terrace but with an open terrace and the wind and rain experienced running up to and during the match what can you expect? The pitch? I agree with flatgooner's assessment.

I found it refreshing to see some football played, despite the heavy wet pitch, rather than lump it up and run. How often do we see a side cover the whole width of the pitch when a goal kick is taken? For me Bognor edged the first half but the Welling pressure, particularly in the period from the whistle in the second half which put Bognor on the back foot for a while, won it. It was by no means one sided but Bognor like Hornchurch before them just couldn't do the business as far as finding the back of the net at PVR, rarely causing JT to be anything but a spectator and that is why they the margin was 3 goals.
