From Kentish Football Supporters of Kent League club Erith & Belvedere have launched a website to “make a positive difference” to the Park View Road club, writes Stephen McCartney.
DISA, the Deres Independent Supporters Association, was formed in the summer of 2006 by a group of Erith & Belvedere supporters keen to make a positive difference to the football club and for it’s supporters.
The website, www.disa.org.uk gives further information about the organisation.
It also includes an online shop, which not only makes available DISA services but also range of official club goods, match day programmes from home and away matches, sponsorship opportunities and season tickets.
Mr Ben Dryland, the chairman of DISA, who first watched the Deres in action at their old Park View ground in 1988, told www.kentishfootball.co.uk the outlines of the organisation’s website.
He said: “The intention of the DISA website is purely to act as a stand-alone information source for the organisation - the provision of the latest news and views on Erith & Belvedere Football Club is still very much left to the club’s website www.erithandbelvederefc.co.uk."
They had a meet the manager and 3 people turned up along with the guy who was organising it. If you are going to have an ISA its advisable to have some fans.

Their club plays in the Kent League, has an average attendance of 116 and has a history of failed supporter organisations. Reading through their aims and objectives they are taking a realistic approach to the associations development.
Naming their Committee and Roles, recognising that there are areas where they are lacking skills and the online shop are all big pluses in my book and I wish them good fortune in their attempt to create and sustain a supporters organisation.

I agree with what they are doing though and their site knocks ours into shame. Ive banged on about it but we need an online shop and an upto date informative and interactive site if the flailing WSU is to show any signs of making it through the merky waters.
