Taking up Sidcup Graham's point from the Wings v Basingstoke thread Ade did say when Bods potential transfer was announced that he had 'positive discussions' I think the words were with a replacement should Bods go and I am hoping that he can get someone in before Boxing Day. However, our squad is looking decidedly thin at the moment and we are fast approaching a run of critical matches. If I am right the situation is
Current players Jamie Turner Paul Hyde Leon Solomon Mark Goodfellow - currently injured Chris Moore Ben Lewis Steve Perkins Jamie Day - 3 match suspension starts 30 Dec missing Thurrock, Fisher return, and Braintree Des Boateng Ellis Green Martin Carthy Che Stadhart Danny Kedwell - potentially departing PVR in the transfer window Andrew Sam Gabriel Odunaike - have to question his future with the signing of Harper and Battersby Steve Harper Tony Battersby
In on loan Lawrie Wilson - 1 month loan expires around 7 January and suspended on Boxing Day(subject to appeal)
Out on loan Akwasi Edusei - Initial 1 month loan to Walton and Hersham expires around 23 Dec but on a free anyway. John Guest - 1 month loan (with a view to permanent transfer) to Dartford expires around 20 Dec.
Query no longer with us Luke Holmes - Nothing heard of him since 23 Sept when he came off the bench at Basingstoke presumably gone Miguel Viana Da Cunaha - Nothing heard of him since Dartford KSC match on 7 Nov presumably gone
On the face of it it doesn't look as if Ade is going to get much of a break if at all between Tuesday Night and Boxing Day as he tries to get some signings/cover.

It was reported in last weeks press that it was hoped that he would be fit for Saturday but as he wasn't even named on the bench despite there only being 4 players on it I suspect he is in light training only. I hope my fears are wrong and that he is fit enough to at least makes the bench tomorrow.

Weve lost 2 left sided midfielders in Ronayne and Bods, Ellis will go left side and Che on right. Hopefully Lewis will get fit and when Daisy is out Perks will go midfield to cover. Hopefully Mark Goodfellow will be fit too.
Adie may have to change the system or bring in some cover and if the budget is used that will mean someone from the Youth Team who has done well in the Senior Cups.
Dont panic, i am sure Adie is on the ball. Other than that, Barney will have to get his boots on ;)

I am equally sure that Ade is right on the ball but he has worked his nuts off ever since his appointment and deserves a few days r and r which it looks like yet again he may not get.
With the lack of a reserve side I wouldn't rule out a youth call up as cover or to ensure that there are options on the bench and not necessarily someone who has made County Cup appearances. If we need to provide pacey options on both sides there is another player who would have to be in with a shout.
