I have HEARD that there are still no floodlights ordered or planned to go in. Will the club reassure the fans in the press that we will have floodlights BEFORE the ground is inspected?

I think its shocking that nothing is being done. Should have had loads of quotes by now and some news for the fans, Doesnt seem to be ANYTHING said in the press about this.

Not only could it stop us going up but also Erith.

Have we insurance? Applied for a grant? Do Erith have to contribute? Have we had any quotes? When will the floodlights be installed?

These are all points that should have appeared on official site and in press long before now.

Its a Shambles Graham!!

Heard rumour don't know whether it's true.

Floodlights will cost £50,000

We will get a grant for £25,000, E&B will pay £10,000 - leaving us £15,000 short. Also allegedly we have put plans in place to play West Ham preseason as well as Charlton to cover the shortfall.

As I say, this is only from overhearing someone else's conversation

I give you my word that I'm not trying to cause an argument here, but doesn't WUISA still have some money floating around? If so why not put it towards the floodlights. I'm sure the Club would give any necessary undertakings. The last thing anyone wants is money that could go on players being spent on the lights so why not help out? If nothing else it would show that all Welling supporters can work together for the best interests of Welling United.

Andrew

Why would WUISA donate to the floodlights when the club sabotaged the association?

WSU have a few grand in the coffers and as they are sanctioned via the club then maybe they will pay towards the floodlights.

I would GUESS that WUISA is dormant waiting for new owners to come in before spending any money or holding events.

You were not causing an argument and it is a valid post. Try emailing terry@pvr.co.uk if you want an official line on WUISA as it stands.

Good Post Andrew

Have the club applied for a national lottery grant given their new community scheme?? If not why not?

http://www.lotterygoodcauses.org.uk/

Also have they contacted abacus lighting   http://www.lighting4sport.com/floodlightingforsport.htm  who have done some really nice lights at other grounds, OR contacted Moor Green and found out how much theirs were? they are on hydraulics and lower at the push of a button to make removing/cleaning lamps easier.

I think we have to have 100 lux? minimum but 250 is recommended, hopefully the lights will be nice and bright and ideally they will match the onces on the B&Q side of the ground.

The ones at Hornchurch looked good too. They looked as if they could be lowered easily for maintenance.
