I am sure MG reads this forum all the time so who do we want to point him towards (or rather who do we want to avoid...?!)
I will start the ball rolling (in the unlikely event of me not getting the nod...) although I am not sure if my proposed candidate would be interested and/or available.
A bloke with experience, and some level of success, at this level and above
A bloke who will take no nonsense from the players
A bloke who had a fleeting association with our club a few years back now.
If you really want no nonsense from the players and some entertainment along the way, get Roy McDonough out of retirement! (He'd provide enough of his own..)
There's always Steve King, eh Wingnut ? (ducks and grabs coat)! However, I wonder whether Phil Babb will be in the frame again - especially as he has worked with Tristan Lewis. Would still prefer Liam but, as always, it is a question of availability and cost.

Step forward Mr Liam Daish.
Jamie Day maybe free by the end of season ..............
I have a feeling that Tristan Lewis and Harry Wheeler will have a few weeks to show what they are about. If they do a decent job then it could be them permanently in charge.
The players also need stand up and be accountable over the coming weeks. We have now seen what they can do, and hopefully with the improved fitness etc, they should be able to keep up the good run of form.

Whoever gets the job, I hope we are wise enough to retain the services of Neil Widderington who I believe has been doing fitness work with the players on a Tuesday with evident success.

I wonder if he will follow Ade and Co to Gillingham.

Wouldn't be surprised but maybe that won't affect any Tuesday night sessions if he wants to supplement his income...??
I assume now that we will get first dibs on any Gills youngsters that may need some grown up football??

Depends on the size of the caravan they've been given
Liam Daish would be my pick, would be a better bet than Steve King but King would be better than a Ryman manager at a struggling club, Whoever it is would have to be experienced at the right end of the table or someone fresh like Bullard worth a gamble. Anyone who has been at the wrong end of the table all the time is a no no especially at a lower level.
Dean Frost could get these players playing the way they are now but he might not fancy it after not being given the chance to get us back up after Faz and Co built a relegation side.
Liam Daish was my first thought too. Dunno where he lives or if he's coaching or managing anywhere else. He wasn't best pleased that he didn't get the gig after he took over as Caretaker from Parker and then the Hobbins gave it to Pennock. He'll do a bloody good job I reckon. Has he still got the hump with the Hobbins though.

He's sitting in the Gills press conference now. They managed to spell his name correctly, too.
I asked Jamie who from his title winning side would make a good manager and he said Lee Clarke, if you wanted a Welling man then that would be a shout and a punt, but Liam Daish and Steve King or anybody who understands this level I would be happy with.
As Polo has stated let Tristian and Harry have the opportunity to continue the job and see how they progress first to try and maintain stability.
Jamie Wright suggested that I should apply for the managers job at welling as Mark Goldberg reads this forum here goes.
Dear Mark Goldberg
My name is Jonathan Acworth I support Charlton Athletic and occasionally pop down see welling play over the last couple years I have helped out people at Charlton in spotting players and have recently spoken to both Russell Slade and Karl Robinson and have also been helping Thomas Dreesdan out spotting players, which he was equally impressed with my knowledge.
My knowledge of the non league is superb I can spot talent playing at all the local kent clubs and London non league clubs.Although I have no formal coaching badges, I can bring in top players to the club I know what is needed at Welling a pacey winger and a striker who can hit the net on a regular basis. I like the system of 4,4,2 where have 2 pacey wingers and an experience midfield mystro bossing the midfield.I was brought up watching Brian Clough as a manager in his early Forest days where he said u always have to start at the back to build a good team this is my motto now.I don't like the hoofball football that previous Charlton managers proceeded with in recent years , I like the game to be played on the floor and attacking flowing football.
Looking at the players that Mark has brought in I can add quality to that list players I have spotted are as follows
Eastmond at Sutton turned down a football league move last week. Why would he sign for Welling? Pugh is at a team 3rd in the league and involved at the academy, why would he sign for Welling? Danny Kedwell is on £1800 a week at Ebbsfleet. Why would he sign for Welling? Jack Parkinson is playing every week at Dover and being linked with football league clubs, why would he sign for Welling?
Let's go for Messi, Neymar, Suarez for next season's strikeforce. Why would they sign for Welling?
You are clueless, with about as much use as a trapdoor in a canoe.
Someone has clearly left the gate open...

I would love pugh be working here at welling in our academy as with kedwell if u sell the club to these players then I reckon they will come,if u don't need my help then fine but what I do know is how to get you out of this division
kedwell and pugh will be involved in any management set up I get 100 per cent I'm impressed with what both players can offer and that's what welling need right now
