You are missing JgFc's point. He is saying that the Club should be much more commercially proactive and has been saying so for years. Its a case of spend a dollar to get ten.
There was a post in the dim distant past which went into the whole matter and in which he challenged the Club to pay him and he was more than confident that he could raise several times what he was paid but this was not taken up.
I'm afraid that at whatever level the facts of life for football clubs is that it is no longer a sport run on enthusiasm and goodwill alone, its world has changed and it is now for better or worse a hard nosed business. We have been very lucky to survive thus far but we certainly won't in today's National unless there are some major changes. And before anyone starts screaming that isn't just negative criticism of the Hobbins it is the harsh reality of our situation. We desperately need to get an experienced professional commercial manager in situ and you won't get one for peanuts. I know what can be done as I've seen it but as with any other job you need the personal with the right acumen and personality and these days you can't get this for nothing/very little and that too is a harsh reality and not a dig at Barry Wallis who I'm sure does all he can.
You don't have to personally like people you work with in life and unless you have money to burn and can employ sycophants the chances are there will be people you have no love for somewhere in the chain but the skill is to recognise and use what they bring to the table. I think your attitude to JgFc is summed up in your use of the word 'instruct' when what he has done for the umpteenth time is to throw ideas into the hat. I don't have any knowledge of his ability to actually go out there and get the cash in but one of the critical factors in raising money is having someone with ideas and that may be their only contribution for all manner of reasons. These ideas can be considered and good ones acted upon by a commercial manager (who would gladly welcome suggestions I'm sure) or volunteers with the necessary time and skills.
I have no intention of contributing further to the debate at this point in time because as I told JgFc earlier I personally do not think now is the time. I'm more than happy though to debate it further as and when our season finishes be that the 13 May or 28 April.

And part of the crux is THE CLUB WANT EVERYONE TO DO THINGS FOR NOTHING so they get people who are not good enough , not skilled and not paid or paid enough.

And furthermore, if you want to waste your money and time throwing both at the club when nothing will change as things stand. FINE do it, But dont claim everything is rosey mark or that those involved in the club are skilled enough to make a difference. Our budget is an absolute disgrace!! The finances do not add up. Welling always said they will never put the clubs future at risk AM I CORRECT?? Then after 130k MINIMUM in 2 seasons they were in debt for years??

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE wake up smell the coffee. I said they dont want to go up and it is MY PERSONAL BELIEF they cut the budget and put all the games into the last few weeks to achieve this....
When have they EVER remotely gone for it?? Last year joint top... budget cut.... this year top... Floodlights not done for FIVE MONTHS and smaller squad and all games pushed back to last few weeks when should have been spread out.
LOOK AT THE FACTS, is the club being run properly or are they sabotaging the Manager and players efforts?? Anyone remotely trying would have spread the games out. Why on earth put them all back, infact moving some twice to get them right back??

Please Do not worry, all will be ok this season and if it isnt it will be ok the next season. The infidels bring problems but they are no trouble. All will be ok. We are in control

There are undoubtedly some good ideas on the list of JGFC's ramblings but a couple of things need to be raised
1.Who is going to do all of this - I think what is acheived with a very small group is outstanding
2.Secondly - WHY don't you do some yourself - don't just 'instruct' others to do it
You think that £1000's can be raised - then do it then!!
The few that do commit to raising the funds at Welling should be applauded not castigised(?)
1 WHAT IS acheived, they paid tommy smith a grand NOT to turn up!! How much have they raised and how much has this improved the budget? What have they done around the ground. What is outstanding about what has been done? Why isnt it supported by the majority of the fans, why have very very few outside those in the WSU or the club signed up for the Sponsor a goal. WPC closed, Friends of Welling Closed and Steve Holley resigned from WSU and at a meeting talk of it closing occured. The WSU is NOT outstanding and does NOWHERE near enough. Take your treatment of joeymoo??? take the WSU website.

And those self elected should be accountable for lack of performance and praised where its due. Spud for example posts the events on here, promotes them etc.
When they do something that is OUTSTANDING they will receive praise. But when so we ever hear whats been done or how much has been raised and donated or whats in the accounts. Go and have a good read of the WSU site, Where are the minutes, the details for sponsor a goal, how to enter the bonus ball competition... etcetera etcetera etcetara
