Smith played in the lower Leagues I believe, certainly at Fulham. I just thought Hessenthaler was a good player that's all. Am happy with Smith appointment but wonder if Hessenthaler would have been a goer at all?

Re. players we had no chance of keeping Keds and Daisy, by far our best two players. Ben and Bruce are losses, perhaps Maidstone are pushing the boat out, he's had a few Clubs our Ben! Should have tried a bit harder for these two within reason unless Neil has better lined up. It's a risk waiting for trial games, doesn't seem to apply to Leon though! That Fairclough's a bugger tapping players up all the time on England duty, ask Forest Green! Time he lost the job on that basis as has been mooted before.

Mooro and Perks are terrific guys and deserve to stay. Wonder if JT's worried about being bombed out by Neil! Of the rest Des had a good season but, Ellis has some promise as does Andy Sam. Battersby (God bless him) and Carpenter a bit knackered now and Harper, nice touches and resonable in the air but goals forget it! In short we need players and fast!!
