RE: Shed Choir V Welling United UpdatesFrom the Wings v Cambridge topic
I didn't go last night so I can't comment on the game, but the report I got after it had ended didn't sound good. This however is the opinion of a City Fan,Taken from their board.
If it was not for Herbert who had a brilliant game Welling would have taken us to the cleaners They were faster more skilfull and had more ideas (perhaps thought of them down the M11)
They will finish in the top five
I am confident we will do well this year - we played some good football under Neil - more attractive than Ade - and I do believe once we get going we'll do well. Even oppostion fans think so - why can't we???
Let's just get behind the team and forget all this bashing of the owners - call a truce for the season!

RE: Once we win our first game we'll go on a big unbeaten run
I`m a level headed sort of bloke. I`ve watched Neil Smith`s team against West Ham, Gillingham and Erith Pre season. I`ve seen them against Bognor. I can honestly say I enjoy the football they play. Much better than last year. On the floor passing. Instant control (most of the time). Players that look up and try to pick out a player with a pass rather than a hoof up field in the general direction of the centre forward. Unfortuatly so far in the league they have made some costly defensive errors. One own goal and J.Ts howler haven`t helped. Hopefully a win against H&Y will give them the boost they need. They will come good! Lets get behind the boys. Good luck and bad luck even out eventually. The bad luck has surely gone now. GET IN THERE LADS. COME ON YOU WINGS

RE: Once we win our first game we'll go on a big unbeaten run
We have been here before about 13 or 14 years ago when we had what looked like a good Conference side that made some stupid errors in the first four or five games (a particularly idiotic 4-3 at Slough, if i remember correctly, being the highlight) and eventually got to safety at Stalybridge on the last day of the season.
Even if the players are good, the teamwork is good, keep finding ways to beat yourself and the good bits won't last forever. (The Arsenal supporters amongst you should have seen that from your first three games last season, aspirations of course being relative, which effectively nailed your season mentally if not mathematically)
Adie almost turned us from a 'lost because of' club into a 'won in spite of' one but couldn't quite get over the last hurdle. I fear Neil will probably have to re-cover most of that ground, we just need to do it quickly.

Man Utd have failed to win their first two games of the season - that last time they did that they won the treble. Whilst I would not want to compare us with Man U, it shouldn't be all doom and gloom after two matches.
A small point. Man U have also failed to lose their first two games.
Not exactly consistent to try and claim our glass is still half full by claiming theirs is half empty. (And I am sure Ferguson did not treat those events with equanimity!)
Im just pi ssed off the pre season was a shambles and we had an unsettled side going into the season, that hasnt helped. and it will be hard to have a successful season because of this.
Im having £750 on us to get my weekend off to a flyer. I havent given up just very pi ssed off two calamity goals out of 6 in 2 games and we still need a striker. It may not be all doom and gloom YET but it aint good peeps....

2 games...2 games...2 games - it's just 2 games and I have 100% faith in Neil's ability - what good does it do constantly knocking the players and team????
I agree there is no need to panic , but with our lack of fire-power and our defence all over the place it might take a bit of time to sort out and then it could be too late.
Come on guys lets get behind the team it's unfortunate that we lost the first game at home followed by two away games were you cannot expect to much a draw at best.come on Neil, come on the team we know in the words of labour, things can only get better....AND I'M SURE THEY WILL
