Thought we were lucky today For the first 20 mins we were totally overrun, especially their wingers.
Moore was awesome and deserved his MoM
Hopefully now we have our first home win out of the way we can go onto better things
Ps
Jamie Turner was at the game, and was warming up with the team before the match. Sat in the stand for the match, so i believe that he has not been sacked, nor left in a huff.

We were lucky today. They overrun us for long periods but we did well to stick in there. Rode our luck when they hit the post twice and they should have had a penalty but did create some chances ourselves, normally through the work of Coleman, who I thought was excellent.
JT might have been there but him and Smudger have had words and he has been told to sort himself out. I respect Neil for telling him how it us.
You could have said jamie was in the bar so hasnt gone anywhere, Instead you post abuse aimed at me . Well all the time priks like you do that ill have a dig back.[edited bruno]

I agree we were lucky to get all 3 points. Had it not been for Mooro we may well not have.
Once the game settled down in the first half it seemed to have 0-0 written all over it. To quote their keeper both sides had left their strikers at home. A well taken set piece i the 89th minute saw another Welling 'smash and grab' victory.
Clark Masters was commanding and did all that was asked of him.

After attending every game so far this season I have finally flipped at how poor and unprofessional our manager is. I've not missed a Welling home game for nearly 13 years but this manager hasn't got a clue, lets be honest with ourselves. Sorry to come on here and be so negative but I thought we were awlful and outplayed today by a far superior outfit and put in yet another ****e display although the win was nice and badly needed. The new keeper, Mooro and the back four were awesome, the midfield was a shambles and couldn't string two passes together although Chippy did battle well, and the front three weren't firing today. Neil, what are you playing for mate, you cant run, dont tackle and give the ball straight back to the opposition every time you get it. Blackman does nothing for the team, argues with everyone in his eyeline and is absolute garbish, and **** knows who the number 11 was today, he looked about 10 and could play in my boys Sunday league team. I hate to say it so early into the season but I feel JgFc is right, we have employed an absolute joker to manage our football club!!!
JgFC, you post comments on how badly are the players have played or whats needed in the team but you dont go to any of the games so how can you comment on it? Today you come out with a comment about JT being sacked or walking out which again, neither is correct, then you start having a go at people when they tell you that you are talking rubbish. If you were a real supporter of the club then you would go and support the team like the rest of us week in week out. Oh and how can anyone say anything to your face when your never at the games? tends to make it a bit difficult.

To be fair there is more than enough written about matches for anyone to form an opinion about the team and individual players and the comments about JT were put up with question marks indicating that they were posing a question.

I was at the game today and agree it wasn't pretty but we got the 3 points against a better placed side. I was happy to see that the team got together at the end of the game, show's that there is some team spirt.
I often agree with points that JGFC makes, but i dont like the way that he constantly wants to get in a fight with people. I agree that sometimes he is targeted by a group of fans, but he also comes out with schoolboyish comments.
He will probably attack me for being anonymous, but I just want to read balanced arguments without vitriol being thrown in either direction. To be fair to JGFC i realise that Mark X and others are guilty of the same thing. Maybe I am being naive but i just want to read a reasoned debate not a slanging match.
I would hope that this view is that of the majority of people who post would agree with me.
bruno how can you accept that jgfc uses the managers face in way that belittles him and the team for that matter on a forum that we would all hope would be in support of the team?
I believe that the majority of those using the forum would agree with your sentiments.
Its unfortunate but I believe that we are going through one of the periodic wind up JgFc and then complain about the outcome spells which has spread across 2 recent threads into which I have had to intervene. I would hope that we can now get back to the debating matters Welling and not fan(s) v fan(s) slanging matches.

I have to disagree on some points with you Anonymous. Although the team didn't play to their full potential, we created some good chances ( especially Nicky Wards miss ) Leon was only inches wide from having the goal of the season and Omari Coleman had a few chances too. Clarke Masters perfomed well most of the time and Mooro had another great game. The team need to communicate with each other before things will settle down. The game itself was quite entertaining, although painful sometimes to watch, but we came away with the win. As for Neil Smith, I thought that he had a reasonable game. He was on the field dictating play and getting in some good tackles. He isn't afraid to have a go when it counts. Admittedly some of his passes went walkabouts, but then again, so did a lot of the Bath passes. As for being a joker of a manager, that is still up for debate, but I feel that he needs a bit more time to get everyone playing in a good passing, flowing way. Blackman I agree is not what he is cracked up to be. His passing, work rate and scoring ability is somewhat dire. Either he has to buck his ideas up pronto, or be shown the door. The number 11 was as you say a bit wet behind the ears and seemed like a schoolboy out of his depth. One thing that I can't understand, why leave it so late to bring on Keevil and Muku? They made an impact straight away, especially Muku with his touchline runs at the defence. We needed more penetration from the flanks. The goal was great though. A brilliant free kick from Chippy and clinical finishing from Tony Sinclair. Let's hope that this is the start of a good run for us. On last thing.........is it me, or did anyone else think that the ref was a total disgrace? Blackmans booking for an innocuous challenge was a joke. Then, from their free kick, our goalie was knocked to the floor from a Bath forwards challenge that was really late, yet the ref and 'Mr I should have gone to Specsavers ' linesman didn't see a thing. Even Arsene Wenger could have seen that one
Manager picks a formation of 4-5-1 so is happy with a point at home we then spend the 2nd half defending ok we did ok first half so we get to 80mins and we are 10mins away from what he wanted then we bring on muku(orlando) and create loads in last 10 and win so why not start with 4-4-2 with keeivil playing as you cant play chippy and smith together and we would have won more to spare.
JT dropped i agree with but in a months time Masters goes what then is Turner in the reserves side?????
I think Blackman's booking was for mouthing off at the lino. I was sitting right near where the incident took place and it was definately a foul. If he'd kept his mouth shut he would probably have got away with just a talking to.
"Jamie is still going to be my number one but I just needed a bit of competition for him." Neil Smith post match interview 1.9.07.
Personally I think that Neil has made the right call here. Jamie has been at the top end of keepers in the Conference South for two seasons on the bounce. In 2005/6 he kept 16 clean sheets in 50 matches which included 14 in 42 League matches and in 2006/7 he kept 16 clean sheets in 46 matches which included 13 clean sheets in 37 League appearances. Yes he has made mistakes in games we have gone on to lose but do you sack your striker when he has a lean spell and you lose games because he hasn't scored ? Keds had 25 games post 31 December 2007, he scored in 6 games (a total of 6 goals) and had a lean spell of 7 matches - I didn't hear anyone calling for his head.

I think every Welling supporter I spoke to at the game yesterday was confused with the team selection Spud, as they were at the Thurrock game, including the directors and Barrie. Think you should go for the managers job when Neil Smith gets the boot after roughly the Eastbourne game!!!
I really can't believe all these posts rubbishing Neil, get behind the team for crying out loud!
We won on Saturday and your all talking about it as if we are bottom. Though when I say ALL, I have a strange feeling there is one person writing all these damming posts.
Have faith in Neil, we have a new squad, it's going to take time. Writing pointless posts about how wrong his team selections apparently are, why not be happy and celebrate winning?
Seems people would rather we fail then do well.....
I can assure you that the anonymous posts are not all from one person and if this is yet another dig at JgFc past experience tells me that if he ain't logged in as JgFc he puts JgFc at the end of the anonymous postings he makes. Now can we stop baiting JgFc and get back to football please.

You would be surprised if you knew who at least one of those who has made anonymous critical postings was and which one has recently talked to himself.
I was certainly surprised and could be generous and say that he had not logged in when he posted but its happened more than once in the last 2 weeks so...

I thought we were very fortunate to get the three points on Saturday but credit to the players for keeping going and grinding out the result.
First half was ok but we need to change the tea at half time. The team came out early and just seemed to be standing around in little groups chatting, almost like a Sunday side, and waiting for the Bath team to reappear ?? Clearly second best in the second half and rode our luck but still missed the best chance of the game before getting the late winner.
Sorry but the omission of Turner was long overdue. I realise this is only a short term fix but maybe we can get the loan extended ?? Back four will be alright if those four stay fit but the midfield and forward combinations need looking at. We basically had no wide players on the field and the usual Welling trick of square pegs in round holes in the shape of Blackman and Maxwell. Ward may be a nice bloke and a half decent footballer but, I repeat, he is not a good foil for Coleman and we need a target man and/or fast striker to play alongside Omari who continues to impress.
A very welcome three points but I can't help feeling that we could be on the end of a hiding at Lewes on Friday unless we give them more problems going forward.
Totally agree with Wingnut's thoughts apart from a couple of bits.
I asccept that JT has made mistakes this season, but people tend to omit that he has pulled off some blinding saves as well, Bognor particularily spring to mind. Maybe a rest will do his confidence good. Agree that Nicky Ward looks a good prospect but it takes talent beyond the call of duty to miss from where he did and have the ability to put the ball out of the ground.
I like the back four as they stand. Neil needs to replace himself with Keevil and we cant play Lloyd anymore, of that I have made up my mind. He puffed and blowed all game and produced little, I dont doubt he has the passion but I would prefer Muto to play there, he can make little impact with bringing him on with 12 mins to go. Neil, give it a rest and do what you came to do which is manage
Omari will come good still, nice touch as well to adjust the defender's shorts just as the throw in was about to come in.
I still however dont feel good about Friday's game on the basis we got out of jail at the weekend. Bath City supporters seem a nice bunch from what I saw and spoke to a few of them, they will do well this season but must feel as though they were robbed as we played an extra defender in the woodwork
Well done Welling. If this was a home and away cup match then i think i would have settled for being just the 1 down at "Half time" however you deserved the three points and i hope you do really well for this season.
