At last some news. The official site says trhat the reserves have a match tonight against ??? at Thamesmead Town. Shame there is no mention of the side they meet and the kick off time and it was only posted today. The side will be made up of squad players, trialists and promising U18's.
Grant Spelling, a name which will be familiar to some already having been a player for Dartford in their Watling Street days and joint manager at E&B, has been appointed Manager of the side. As far as I am aware his last appointment was managing the Dartford U21 side which he left at the end of last season hoping to move to first team management.
Grants coaching and management career started with Dartford U18's in the late 90's steering them to the KYL League Cup. He then spent some time at Crystal Palace as a Community Scheme coach. He returned to local football and had a successful spell with Thamesmead Town before moving on to VCD as reserve team manager and subsequently first team coach. He then joint managed E&B for a spell with ex Wing Steve Robinson before returning to Dartford where he spent a successful 18 months as the U21 (reserve) manager.
