Right before I start, lets put my point of view up front.
Football grounds at our level particularily shouldnt have to accomadate drums, trumpets, trombones et al. It ruins it for a lot of others and my experience is that the things are either blown incoherantly or banged until no one can be heard. If Herb Albert and his whatever brass are there thats a different matter but frankly it gives me and I know others the hump.
So assuming that people cannot negociate a turnstile with a friggiin drum, they have to ask for permission to bring the thing in through the gate as they say just say no!
I know its a fine line between horns, rattles and god knows what else but if you turn up with something that cannot go through a turnstile ie a piano/side drum harp or whatever else then sorry you should have left it at home.
To the best of my knowledge we haven't suffered so far this season so why dont we set the precedent?
Drums are definately irritating at our level. It's all very well and good when there are several thousand extremely noisy fans, but that's rarely the case in the conference south.
Watched Oxford City v Harlow Town once, and Harlow brought an air raid siren with them ver similar to the picture. Everytime they got a corner or scored they would wind it up. There were about 100 people there and it was hilarious. Especially as they were 2-0 with 15 mins to go and cranking it up when Oxford scored 3 late goals! It was a bit quiet at the end! I'll chip in a £10 towards buying one for us!
