I know that I might regret asking this question and please answer without any nasty comments, but why can a broadcast not be had from PRV? Is it the management or licensing laws that are prohibitive? Also, who records the video footage and is this not another form of broadcasting?
Without going over too much old ground the short answer is the Club wanted nothing to do with it and banned it. I say that from direct personal knowledge as I was given short shrift by Graham Hobbins when I tried to discuss it with him after the infamous poster threatening eviction from the ground for anyone doing a Radio Wings live commentary. In my opinion it had far more to do with it being a JgFc initiative than anything else which is sad. The broadcast quality is top notch and we could have been the envy of non league football.
The match highlight videos (which were another JgFc initiative and first saw the light of day on the now defunct unofficial Wings on the Web site) are recorded by the official site webmaster James and yes it is another form of broadcasting but in this case endorsed by the club.

It there was a case for this then it would be from AWAY games
There is always a risk that on a rainy cold February night some may stay at home instead of paying through the turnstile thus reducing the clubs takings

I bet the club wouldn't want anyone doing it as the club would worry about people not turning up at games if they can listen live online (even if it was 2 or 3). The videos are up after a match and can never replace being there or affect attendances, that's why the club endorses that i would imagine.
As for live commentaries in the FA Cup.....Hornchurch better hope the FA rights people don't start sniffng around! In reality they won't worry at this level of the competition.
I would imagine all concerned know exactly where they stand on that given the furore that surrounded the start up. If I recall correctly you could probably find it on an archive on this site if you had the time to look.

BUT
I am sure Mr Club will attack me on that as usual
I will just leave it to you do have the digs Mark, youve had 2 in this thread, Well Done. You just cannot stop it can you. Cant make a point without having a pop.

I would have welcomed some commentary from Tuesday's game as I was working away from home and unable to make the match. As a season ticket holder the club still has my revenue.
I am mostly reliant on other people to provide the info re updates.
Also all i was saying was should Welling supporters be supporting Welling - I thought this one was easy and that is why I travel 1000's of miles doing just that however
Given the choice
Watching Welling or going to the crumby outback that is Hornchurch I would have thought a Welling supporter would want to support Welling
I think that says it all doesn't it - and that ISN'T a dig - It is a fact
After the way Hobbins cu nted me off to other clubs? and sabotaged WUISA and also the way the club are run off the pitch . i stated i wouldnt give them a penny while they were there.
Do you Mark want me to go to away games and not home? Simple answer yes or no and would that make you feel better?

Hornchurch are a very hospitable club, value the radio (AT HOME GAMES) their fans are UNITED and the club sign players , some of whom we could do with..
Janney, Brightly, Kris Lee, Jordon Bostock. In this interim period while the club (welling) stagnates and take the pi ss out of the fans i am stating i will still not give them a penny.
Why cant you respect that Mark?

I accept that at home games this is more worthwhile.
However in my sitaution that I outlined above can you not see an advantage for this?
As opposed to lost revenue, I can hardly see someone sitting at home on a PC rather than being at a game if they have already paid or wish to attend merely to enjoy a game of football?
Maybe we just try running it for the midweek eve games that are more difficult for people to attend
If the club agree to that my name is roland van tulip
NO CHANCE its not a fear of people staying away. Heres the thing too.. Other clubs PAY for the servers, licences, data transfer.... how much you reckon it would have cost welling or did cost welling for the games covered.... thats right a fat zilcho....
Radio will come when we have new owners, have no worries on that. Be patient i am. And you wont get anything off Mark other than a fierce back everything the club says and does stance. Unless its one of his chums who want to do something, may refer back to this post down the line.
OF COURSE i would love to be doing the radio for Welling, going home and away again i cant just go and support bromley or someone, When the club is either in new ownership OR as i said before TRYING to get its arse in gear, i will be back. UNTIL THEN, if some other clubs invite me to do the radio for them and i want to do it i will. END OF STORY!
