We have No cover at the back and are playing a full back at center half!
We are playing two young loanee strikers (one of whom is coming back off an operation on his knee!)
We have never had a settled team
We have not put any kind of run together
We are out the FA Cup
We got kn****ed out of another by a lower league teams stiffs

There aint that much to be positive about , Neil has put us in this mess

Thats nine league games lost which was is only 1 less than Paul Parker after 17 games. Its also the total number of games we lost in 2005/6 Ade's first season.

Yesterday was bad. We looked ok up until they scored but after that I never thought we would score and if there was another goal in the game then Maidenhead would get it.

In my opinion Neil Smith was awful. He gave the ball away reguarly, including giving the ball away for the first goal - the turning point of the match. He should never have been playing and I can not believe the arrogance of the man to keep picking himself when he is so poor. He wanders round the pitch shouting abuse at this players for every mistake - something he has no right to do as he is the worst player in the side. Bully is the word that comes to my mind.

I assume that Coleman was carrying an injury as I can't understand why he didn't start. Pugh did nothing - apart from his two goals against Bromley he has been disappointing - no pace - can't hold the ball up - loses it most times he gets it. I wonder if Coleman is being punished for the missed chance late on at Dorcheser when Smith actually made a good run and picked him out. He was was cursing Coleman at the end of the game which is why I wonder.

I still think that we have the basis of a good team - Orlando Smith played really well yesterday in particular - although he needs to get back and help the defence but I fear we will nEver get the best out of them with Neil Smith in charge. I am sure that I was not the only one who noted the near silence that greated his departure frOm the field yesterday.

Defeat next Saturday and surely that must be it.

Yeah Smith was poor yetserday, but I think that the biggest problem at the momenet is off the field with no money nd no real ambition as this is having an effect on the pitch. The only thing that may change is if you got a manger who has a bit of local knowledge and would be able to work on a shoe string with connections. Neil Smith has not got these sort of connectuions. WE do have some good players but we for whatever reason we are far to inconsistent. Fair play to Muku yetsreday though thought he was the psotive fopr us and if he can hit top form again that would be a big plus.

Smith is definetly getting close to the chop though

I still dont blame Neil enirely its not his fault he isnt experienced or was given the job. WE HAVE TO get a manager who has been there and done it at least at Ryman premier level.

Someone with contacts. BUT we also need a reserve team and to have a squad in place at the middle of pre season. Signing anyone with boots every few days who have never really done a job anyware is just guessing.

Ive said all along he will go, its inevitable. What can he do to stop the rot? All he knows is to say im looking at players and we have to improve.

I have a feeling Mr Daish will be available soon ;) Maybe time for Barrie to swallow some pride and go and sort the mess that he in part has created.

Have we got a team spirit? i was surprised to see JT with Daisy an hour before the dogs started, Dont our players mix off the pitch? they dont have to live together but if they hung around together off the pitch they might do the bizz on it.

Perhaps Neil COULD be good enough with a top class assistant instead of Nethers.

Chelwing you are completly on form here its Sunday eve and I'm still grinding my teeth over yesterday. If I had a racing three points at home it was this game.

Yep injuries will take their toll, and Sinclair will cost us dear. To say that the Fisher game cost us is fine but we should be up for what is a three point game.
Neill looked slower than normal if thats possible and I think that Ellis is at fault  for the second goal, if he had tracked the no 4 who had bossed the midfield for most of the game it wouldnt have slumped beyond what was retriable. Its fine having two attacking full backs in Muto and Ellis but if they dont defend and understand that you dont have to beat a man twice then we are in trouble.

I am also assuming that Mooros substitution yesterday whom in my opinion was our best player was tactile rather than bring on Stuart. This left us with Solly in a central position and roasted down the middle. Leon, thank you in the time you have been at PVR we have used and abused your talents, you are better than the standard that you are performing at-good luck for the future.

As for Neil, he has tried I feel, but he must hold his hand up today that we could be better. If we out him next week great but who takes up the reins? I think we need someone who knows the League we are in, I've always punted for Andy Ford, dont know his position but he knows his way around things.

Overall is where do we wont to be? did Adie over achieve last year and bring our hope too high or is the clubs aims to sit where we are in which case Neil is the man for the job but maybe not the man for the fans.

Whatever the fans hopes are the reality is that any Club's ambition, or lack of it, will always determine the highest level which it would play and at the present time that would seem to be Conference South as far as Welling is concerned.

Ade gave us 2 good seasons despite the problems which beset him, particularly last season, and in doing so showed what the right man (and they don't come along too often) can achieve on a limited budget.  The fact that he was not contracted for a longer spell at PVR around last Christmas nor given an addition to his budget to bring in a proven player(s) when we were in a strong position vis a vis the playoffs in my opinion clearly shows that the Club were more than happy to remain in the Conference South.  Fortunately for Ade, his abilities, achievement and passion for the game did not go unnoticed and hence his appointment at Stoke where he is still achieving and I understand very happy.

The problem for the Club is that unless Neil manages to get the striker (and now defence) situations sorted, get the most out of every player for 90 minutes week in and week out, and get some results under his belt pdq then the Ryman Premier beckons.

I should imagine that Barrie and Barry would find a relegation scenario as uncomfortable as a promotion one which surely means that if we continue as we are Neil will have to go before Christmas so that a new manager has a reasonable shot at avoiding relegation.
