Given that, even if the jew diligence is in order, the people who have paid their 35 quids won't actually own the club, could something similar be done at PVR? The £35 only buys one years subscription, you have to renew annually. This means that you are only buying a say in the running of the team, not ownership of the club. So, could Welling offer a similar scheme whereby you pay a sum for a seasons say in running the club? Cut out all the nonsense about owning the club etc, just sell it as what it is - a chance to have your say. People with season tickets would be entitled to a free 'share' each season. Anyone think its a good idea?
Glen - how would people have their say? I think the history of the club would suggest that they aren't for seeking out the supporters opinions. Thus the criticism on this board about the current fund making activities. Can't see this as a real goer at the moment but good to see people coming up with ideas. You could always float it past Barry when you next see him. He's always up for a chat.
I think the fans oppinions would be appriciated by the club, as we regularly disucssing on who to sign etc. and also i think we probably see whats going on, on the pitch at a diffeent angle to what Neil see's when he is playing.
Just to make it clear the members WILL own the Club which is why a condition in the purchasing of the club was that they hold the majority interest in it.
Just afew quotes from the site
Once the club is purchased, membership fees from new members will be divided into various funds, eg Player Transfers, Stadium, Youth Policy and Community. It will be up to the members to decide what percentage of the money each fund receives.
So for example, if theres a great young player at the club who could be sold for a high fee, the decision about whether to sell him will be made by members, not by an owner who wants to make a personal profit.
Can MyFootballClub members sell the club the if they want to? Yes. It will require a 75% majority to pass such a motion. However, as the club will not be run for members profit, any proceeds from the sale will not be shared by MyFootballClub Members. This is therefore unlikely to happen in practice. If, however, a vote is passed to sell the club, then proceeds would be given to a charity with similar objects.

Can you see Daish staying if hes out voted every week? Say he wants to play someone and the fans choose someone else?
Daish could be ripe for bringing back after a few weeks if we monitor the situation but the interview with WOTW he did was pretty damning of the Hobbins treatment of him and their communication during his caretaker stint.

Sorry Bruno but the 'subscribers' dont own the club, if they did they wouldnt have to renew every year. Its like being a member of a jim or something. When you buy something you own it outright, you dont have to pay again and again. It might be more accurate to say they are renting the club.
The fact is they are shareholders in MyFootballClub who now have the majority holding in Ebbsfleet United and will make all decisions relating to Ebbsfleet based on a simple majority vote of all shareholders.
As far as individual subscribers their commitment is indeed based on making an annual payment but is this tantamount to paying rent or paying off an undetermined and never ending sum on the knock?
The real challenge on the use of the term ownership surely has to be that as 'owners' they don't have an option to en masse vote themselves a share in any profits which may be made but equally they are not individually responsible for debts.
I believe this is a unique and interesting arrangement and I'm sure we will get to read about all sorts of issues as it beds down, particularly since Ebbsfleet is a local side.

I think you will find that the football club is owned by the entity that is myfootballclub.con (whoops) and as I suggest the 'owners' are instead paying an annual fee for the right to vote on issues. Imagine that nobody renews their membership and no new members join, so there are no 'shareholders' - who owns the club? I suggest the answer to that question will also be the answer as to who owns the club now.
In the event of insufficient shareholders resubscribing and too few new subscribers to at least maintain the status quo my view is that this would be no different to the position where the owners business outside of football goes bust and he withdraws from the Club. If this were to happen I would suggest that the remaining (existing) investors would obviously regain control of a less financially viable Club. In the longer term for the Club to re-establish its financial viability the the remaining board members could increase their stake or new investor(s) sought.
The plan, however, is that MyFootballClub will take 100% control of the Club in the future for a fixed price.
What is of immediate interest is how much is the existing debt, does it include any loans made by the existing board members and how is it going to be managed - is it going to be paid off or refinanced in the name of Ebbsfleet United FC.
It will also be interesting to see how much is going to be made available for the January transfer window.

Tell you what Bruno, if you ever need a car you can 'buy' mine. I'll let you decide which garages I go to for repairs and petrol, what stickers there are in the window etc, then at the end of the year you can pay me for it again. If you decide to sell it I keep the money and you get nowt- cheers!
I've recognised the points about not sharing in any profits (which it is claimed will all be ploughed back into the club) in previous posts but I will repeat.
"Can MyFootballClub members sell the club the if they want to? Yes. It will require a 75% majority to pass such a motion. However, as the club will not be run for members profit, any proceeds from the sale will not be shared by MyFootballClub Members. This is therefore unlikely to happen in practice. I personally do not subscribe to the project for many reasons not the least being that 20% of the subscription goes to the running costs of MyFootballClub - a case of creating a nice little earner for yourself if there ever was one.
Realistically how many of the subscribers will bother voting when the novelty wears off or they find themselves part of a significant minority in policy decisions?
In my opinion the 50,000 plus who have signed up would have been better off forming local supporters associations and saying to their club we are prepared to offer you a minimum of £x a year (members x £35) and in return we want representation with executive powers on the board.
