J - amazing stuff. Just one of those games we couldn't score - like Baintree , like Dorchester -you can't just say that - these are poor sides which we should be putting away.
They were a dirty team - I saw more dirty tackles from our team than from them. Especially from our manager.
Perhaps the fact that there was booing at the end shows how touch with reality you are. Everyone else can see it. Look at the table - 17th - we had built up a 6 point gap over the sides beneath but that is going. Maidenhead have two games in hand over us so more than likey 18th place. If you're happy with that fine - but I'm not. We are in a relegation battle.

but did you see their off the ball antics?! Their number 5 kicking out when everyone was walking back up the pitch towards the end - numerous pulling and pushing which the ref didn't get a grip on
I don't feel I'm out of touch - booing your own team does you no good whether you are in a play-off battle or a relegation one - but it's worse in a relegation one
and people were moaning and constantly criticising at 0-0 when we were having chance after chance - and these are the same people who were constantly criticising every game when Pennock was in charge - how is that justified and how does it help??
Maybe I am "out of touch" with what everyone else thinks but I just believe in supporting the team and getting behind them - if Smith is sacked in next couple of weeks I'll support whoever is brought in without question, but while Smith is there at least back him
Too true - how boring would it be of we all agreed. I admire J's loyality - I am afraid I take a different view - paid my season ticket - go to most away games and feel that I want to make my point about things. J makes vailid points especailly about when Ade was in charge. There was plenty of negativity then as he rightly points out - sometimes I think we view the past with rose tinted glasses.
Its healthy to have debate. We dont have to agree. At least J put reasons down and discussed the point. I think people can agree to disagree like you two have when both express their opinions in a decent manner.

It's all about opinions J. All of the News Shopper contributors have been asked by me to say it as they see it this season and that was Sunni's opinion of the first half on Saturday.
Saturday was dreadfull and reminds me of the Hayes game at home alhtough I wasn't at the Braintree game
Sinclair is a big loss for me and Smith needs to bring in cover
Again we saw that Chippy and Smith can't play together although I am not sure there were any options
Ellis looks much better than last year and I am not sure we should ever expect him to tackle too much (remember Overmars) and I would get him signed up soon
Yes we need a good permanent striker but who is going to let them go at this point of the season - It will probably happen (if it does) during the transfer window for the Conference National when they improve and offload
Why should we sign a midfielder who doesnt track back and doesnt tackle? We are conference south not la liga!
We need a striker but whos going to let players go now? - Erm thats what the summer and pre season are for, in my opinion. We shouldnt be looking for a striker approaching December!

I agree that we need to sign Ellis. On his day, a very good player, but as previously stated, he needs to get back and help the defense. Not only do we need a striker of the Kedwell type, we need players that want to genuinely sign for us and not just be contracted for a short while. We need stability - either sign players or use the youth set-up / reserves ( if any left ) J and Chelwing both made very valid points, especially beating lower opposition, be it at home or away. It should be a given. Maybe Smithy plays himself at No. 8 cos Keevil isn't fully match fit yet? But I wish that he wouldn't - he gave away some really bad passes and quite rightly should have been sent off for some of his tackles. But as J said, whilst he is in charge, let's get behind him and support the lads on the park. I doubt if it does much confidense for the boys if they are booed off either.
