I dont feel the team are worthy of my hard earned cash at the moment, especially with Christams just around the corner. This may not be the right attitude but its the way I and im sure many other Wings feel and its up to Smith and the players to turn this around, FAST!
I can't make it, but even if I could I don't think I could face the trip down there. My current hunch is that we'll lose, Smith will go, and the team pull it together for the fans with a win at Bromley...
We will lose, smith will resign after a fight with players, carpenter will be caretaker and lead the wings to a thrashing over bromley 5-0. Andy Ford will be appointed and bring in an assistant but keep Chippy on the coaching staff, Welling brighten up after xmas and finish 8th with Ford saying we will piss this tinpot league next year.
Hobbins sells the club to Steve Holley who then declares we are going full time. Welling win Conference South by 17 points losing 2-0 at White hart lane in the fa cup 4th round after beating West Brom 4-0 on their own patch in the previous round. Welling go up via the play offs to the football league the next season just in time to move into their New stadium on shooters hill with a 12,000 all seater capacity. Crowds return to Welling after some professionalism and ambition and Welling average 4500 in their first season in the league finishing a more than respectable 9th place.
Everyone thinks if only this could have happened a decade OR MORE ago we wouldnt have endured abject shiite and poor management on and off the pitch.
