I was reading in the NLP yesterday, that Eastleigh have 80 sponsors contributing £350,000 towards the running of the club and a further £75,000 pledged in services.
Not quite sure what services mean,I guess firms working for nothing.IE looking after the pitch.
It just shows what can be achieved with a proper Commercial Dept.
I notice that this season we are not even selling raffle tickets at games, and in all the years I've been going to Welling I have never been asked if I want to join the Gold Bond scheme.
I personally think that we should sort out alll these off field matters so that we will then have a chance of raising the sort of income that will get us out of the mess we are in on the pitch.

I have never been offered a scratch card - I know I could search them out but the point is I always brought a couple of raffle tickets when I arrived (and even one a toasted sandwich maker once!!) but now I don't buy anything. I would be interested to know which is making the most money - raffle vs scratch card. I am sure the scratch card is a lot less bother - don't have to worry about getting the prizes together!!
Well now we've established where the scratch cards are, although I dont think you should be searching for the sellers, what about .the 80 sponsors and £350.000.

Mark - I go to every home game - I see the bonus ball but never the scratch cards. I always go to the tea bar and then back around to the new stand. I am not alone in not seeing it. Mind you I don't help out so I have no right to complain.
However Bubbles is right - this is Peanuts compared to the sort of money that Easteligh are raising - and there are others - I have mentioned Bromely on this board before - those who went there last week will have seen an impressive set up with advertising boards on every spare inch. The dug outs are even sponsered. Compared with our sad lot this is poor. There must be loads of opportunities in our area - Bexleyheath a mile down the road - there is a massive Co-op a stones throw from the ground - we should be able to get deals going with these people.
The chap selling the scratch cards usually stands next to the bonus ball seller. I find it difficult to get past them without being spotted. Also I am sure I have head the announcer advertise both over the P.A. As far as the Gold Bond goes I saw it on the main site phoned Barrie signed up and sorted a standing order with my bank online. Total time 5 minutes
