In some ways I feel for Neil, injuries and suspensions kick in this time of year but then again he should have had enough time to plan and prepare for what is known as a difficult time. With Stuart being taken off today it will only add to our woes.
Tactically why did we let a guy on his debut, from a lower league take a penalty?-would it have been better for Chippy to take it as he does the free kicks. Also if Charles had taken his three chances and the penalty had gone in we could have been 4-0 up by half time. If this is a quality striker being groomed for the future then Southend will learn a lesson quickly.
Maybe now it is time to think about the new year but something tells me injuries, works hard etc will go in his favour. At the end of the day the table doesnt lie
Spot as always BKK. We had lots of chances in the first half despite the fact that they were the better side. Our problem is - even a yard out - we can't score. Finishing of the worst standard. Their footabll deserved the win and Ben Stury who scored the gaol was the best player on the field by miles. Type of player we desperatley need. Always available in midfield - creative, good runs. Who did we have in that role - Lloyd Blackman - I need say no more.
I personally thought Blackman had a good game. At least he didn't stop running.
All in all though a crap performance.
I was going to go to the Sultana game on Friday but this performance has changed my mind. I'd sooner sit at home in the warm and watch TV.
