Unless I have missed something it looks like Mr Lisney, Chairman of Welling United Youth, and Mr Dean, Welling United Community Officer, may well have sealed the fate of Welling United with Fisher who they coach having taken all 6 points from us over the Christmas /New Year period.

I don't think shifting the blame onto part-time coaches at another club is realistic really. The woeful position WE are in can only be attributable internally.
anonymous, The responsibility for the woeful performances from the Wings lies firmly at the feet of the Hobbins who appointed a virgin manager to build a team from scratch on peanuts. For goodness sake Gary and Jim had more experience and probably more local knowledge than and as many contacts as Neil Smith.
The irony which is obviously lost on you is their roles within the Welling United setup if we are relegated but less than 6 points would have seen us safe.
I don't blame Gary and Jim, they and Wayne Burnett are obviously a better management team than Neil Smith and Co. and bloody good luck to them in that respect but I and others see a conflict of interest in their roles with both Clubs.

Well Done to Gary and Jim on the 6 points but as i said months ago they shouldnt be coaching our youth teams and then coaching a rivals first team. The fact the coach the kids for FREE means that the club (us) are happy.
Agree with Bruno not gonna slate Gary and Jim but yet another absolute howler by our club.
If i really did have a bad grudge with Gary i could have made it hard for him to stay at Welling but things he told me will stay confidential.

I think you HAVE to stop using the word PEANUTS when refering to the budget - From what I can gather it is a middling budget in our league which if that really mattered would mean we would be about 10th
It is what you do with it NOT the ammount
Remember Smith and Neathercott are on about 20% of that budget
I think they would be on a lot less than that Mark!!! and would wager a Huge amount they arent even on 15% of the budget and closer to 12%!!
My estimate IF the budget is circa 4.5k is that smith is on 350 tops and nethers 250
Id have money that im very close too!!
A non playing assistant wont get much more than 250 in this league no matter what club he is at... Ask barney!! and he certainly wont be on what adie was on!! and that would still make them on a lot less than 20% of the budget!!
Adie and phil were on closer to 10% of budget so why would Smudger and Tempo be on 20%?

Agree with Mark that wether its 2k or 10k its what you do with it. Also that we would be mid table at least on the budget front. But thats not a cause for celebration given the way we have performed for 21 years!! It should signal better fortunes.

Doesnt work like that at Welling Mark.. (or at this level)
The manager doesnt get exs for travelling to scout, he wont get any more for playing and neither with nethercott.
He may get a score appearance money if hes lucky. Have no idea what youve been told but ask nethers he will probably tell you what you want to know apart from how much.

Mark Wherever we are in the budget league our the only movement in our budget has been downward over the last 3 years and we were never big spenders. Bearing in mind what some clubs in lower leagues actually pay transfer fees and pay their players more than Welling I maintain my stance that a budget of around 4.5K pw for a team 6th tier of English football is peanuts remains. Neil's tight budget, my peanuts - no significant difference in my book.
I would agree wholeheartedly with your comment that its what you do with the budget that counts but your options, if you spend judiciously, increase with its size. There is of course plenty of room for money to be spent foolishly and I would wager that Fisher aren't the only side to have reduced their budget in the last 12 months.
