The task that Neil took on was probably far greater than he had anticipated when he took it on. I have no doubt that he put his all into it but the bottom line is if our budget is so low that we can't compete with lower divisions in terms of what we are able to offer players you have to have an extensive knowledge of players in lower divisions, an excellent eye for potential, and at least a reasonable degree of luck. That wasn't the only reason he failed but in my view was a significant factor.
All the best for the future Neil. Despite some of the comments made, often from sheer frustration, I'm sure most, if not all, would agree that you gave it your best shot but regrettably it didn't work out.

As far as my posting goes READ what I have written, I believe it was a significant factor.
Without pre existing managerial experience and extensive knowledge of lower league players our budget, middle of the budget table or not as the case may be, meant that Neil was on a sticky wicket from day 1 and needed more than a little degree of luck and he didn't get it.
What is not a misconception is that there are Clubs in lower divisions offering better terms than us to players and some are even paying transfer fees. How could Neil compete?
How do you know that we are in the middle of the budget league table Mark? Are you going on the word of someone or do you have any hard facts? If you have the facts please share them. I'll kick off with St Albans, their budget at the start of the season was publicly declared as 4.5K and they had a virgin manager. Where are they in the League and what has happened in terms of management>?

I don't disagree that such inequalities exist Mark and that its what you do with the budget that is as important as the budget itself but surely you can appreciate the fact that, using handicap in the sporting sense, an inexperienced manager's is likely to be significantly greater than that of an experienced manager.
Any response to my final paragraph?
