With a manager to be appointed and Grays on Tuesday week a quick look at the squad suggests that at this point in time we may not be able to name a full bench. A little worrying though realistically Grays will be odds on to win and any additional income would probably only have come from the match itself anyway and our focus has to be on Conference South survival.
As far a I can work out our squad is now
LLoyd Blackman Michael Boakye not appeared on team sheet for the last 2 games Jerome Boycenot appeared on team sheet for the last 3 games Richard Carpenter Omari Coleman Ellis Green Joe Howe Sam Keevill Chris Moore Suspended 15 Jan Jackson Ohakham not appeared on team sheet for the last 2 games Marcus Powell Ellis Remy Robbie Ryan Tony Sinclair long term injury Orlando Smith Leon Solomon Jamie Turner John Wilfort
plus perhaps though they haven't featured lately perhaps
Joe Crawford not appeared on team sheet since mid Dec Sam Tucknott not appeared on team sheet since mid Dec Andy Pugh not appeared on team sheet since mid Dec.Loan spell up around 20 Jan if he hasn't already returned
I believe that the other loan signings may well have returned to their clubs
Charles Ademeno loan spell up 15/1/08 according to Southend and we have no games before then so presumably has returned Rory Hill played in Gills U18's last Saturday so may have returned and would be suspended on 15 Jan anyway
I predict a busy time for the new manager whoever he may turn out to be.

Both Jerome and Jackson were at Hampton although not on the team sheet. I am sure I saw them on the pitch before the game - should be available to play. Sam Tucknott - I thought we had signed him so can't understand why not even on the bench.
It ain't going to happen overnight though so unless the new manager can get out of the players what Neil couldn't we should expect to get s a few more poor results initially.

There are two youth team players signed up, one of them being Louis Dean, the other youth might be on the list already, can't remember his name. So that's another two to the squad, whether the new manager see's fit to put them on the bench is up to him.

Agree with mark on two points, not many on contract and we have a core of players good enough to get a positive reaction from and its from those i will want to see that reaction from.
Especially Chippy!!
I dont think we are down by any stretch of the imagination, this is a Shiite league and forget those that are on good budgets, if we get a decent manager we will pi ss this league within 3 seasons.
THEN everyone has to get behind the club and sing on the same hymn sheet as they will have sorted their ****e out ....
I think this is a positive moment for the club, i couldnt care if piggy was spoonfed those lines from barrie, they are the most positive things heard in years from PVR (Since the we need a manager to change the club etc etc before doddering bill came in)
IF the club starts thinking and acting postive that is all ive asked, Jesus since 1977 ive seen enough ****e games and seen some grat games, its not WINNING what i want its giiving ourselves the best chanc of competing. If piggys words are followed through by the two bazzas i will be happy with that.
Piggy now all you need to sort is the commercial department but one step at a time eh.

I disagree that there are enough decent players in the current squad and I think the new man will have to wheel and deal pretty quickly.
In my humble opinion only Turner (on his day), Solomon, Moore, Ryan, Green (should have been told where to go) and (potentially) Sinclair from the current squad are up to this level of football. The rest of them are simply not good enough.
Yes there is a "new manager syndrome" where a change at the top can produce instant results and different methods can improve different players. However I still believe that we need (at least) half a dozen players of better quality to make a difference over the remainder of the season.

Wilfort is clearly not good enough. (panick signing) Howe is clearly not good enough. (panick signing) Soloman. (has looked like he doesn't give a s*** all season! Carpenter. (not at the races Im afraid, no legs!) Green was sent off playing for a Sunday league team!!!!!!! (goodbye) Lyoyd. As I have said before is as good as a chocolate fireguard
These players should all be shown the door now, in my opinion...
Leon is a good player - I think he has become disillusioned recently with playing in a rubbish team. With good managment Leon can more than hold his own at this level.
