Co ckerill would seem to tick the boxes, it would be entirely dissapointing if someone inexperienced or unproven at our level or above is given the job now.
Im believeing Young Bazza will be as good as his word that someone from our level or above and exerienced to get the points will be appointed.
Im a bit worried about the club may follow their own lines in finding someone. I wouldnt feel they will approach Didier Deachamps!!!
Andy Ford / Co ckerill look upto the task. To appoint people less experienced would be same old welling. But as ive said i am believing the club that they will not do that.

And well done again paul on the story. The Newsshopper is certainly doing us proud this season (even with Smith reluctant to answer the dog), Matt Panting has done well also at the KM.
And the Super Value Bexley Times, that used to be good is now a pile of rancid festering poo when it comes to Welling editorial and news.
Keep it up guys!!

I'm hoping that too. I also want a manager who has had previous experience at coaching or as a number 2.
Talking of Daish in another topic - when he was our boss he was pretty inexperienced at our level (at Havant previously) but has done well at an even higher level with Gravesend. I suppose his success proves that some managers with not much experience can do it (was it his playing past that helped? didn't work for Parker). However, we have taken a tumble so far this season it has to be someone with experience and good contacts at all levels - coaching, scouts, players, loans etc.
Daish worked at a DIFFERENT club with different structure, Smith might work elsewhere too. We have had many inexperienced coaches and the only one who NEARLY did the business is pennock. Wether it was the floodlights, budget cuts, lack of reserves that stopped him is open to debate.
The club have said we will have someone experienced at getting the points and experienced at our level or above. Having said that they have to deliver now, simple as that. No more inexperienced managers. I dont want a number two being given a chance i want a proven manager.

JGFC - I also want don't want a current no.2 as boss. I meant we need a manager who in his past has also been a no.2 and/or coach (pretty vital at a club like ours).
Also I wouldn't rule Andy Ford out of the running yet. Just because he doesn't want to comment on the vacancy publicly doesn't mean he is not a potential candidate.
