Sounds like a good read

Couple of ideas to think about.

Could Peter in the shop contact the author and try and get a few copies on sale and return for the club shop

Also, this PVR in snow photo that was mentioned.  Would it be possible for the club to get a license to use the photo and make Xmas cards for the club for retail in the shop.

Just a couple of idea, so what do the panel think?

I've got this & it's an excellent book (like all of Mike' Floates previous efforts). There's a really good section on PVR as well as every other local ground you can think of and some you'll have never heard of.

He doesn't like the new stand, arguing that the ground has lost some atmosphere after the loss of the covered terrace. One obvious solution to this... build a roof at both ends (I'm surprised that the Conference national ground regulations don't require covered terracing).

My main bugbear with the ground now is the remains of the old floodlights. The view from the main stand is obscured enough, what with stanchions every five yards, so why didn't they remove the whole of the floodlights after they blew down? Of course, silly me - Money!

One last thought

Why dont the club invite the author for a signing before one match before the end of the season

Might generate a bit of interest in the club and the book

Again, what does everyone think?  Would it be worth the trouble for all involved.

Keef - I think the other problem with removing the old floodlight pylons is the fact that thy are probably holding the old stand up!

Haha JgFC - not really much I can do about that as I admit I'm not really a very teckie person. I just copy and paste what is in the address box and put it on here although there probably is a way of making them shorter.

Exactly Spitey - according to the very conveniently anonymous poster, the author of the book shouldn't have bothered writing about Park View Road because it has a DA postcode as opposed to an SE one. As he himself says FFS ashamed

We have had the old London/Kent debate on here many times, I've always enjoyed playing one off against the other!  The only person who came close to flumoxing me was someone who favoured Kent, he basically took us back to roman times and swept away all politics subsequent! Me I favour the best of both worlds!!
