I decided to cycle from Epsom for todays game and got pretty lost on the way home. So I got soaked and can barely walk. I thought we had plenty of possesion but only really looked threatening once we were 2-0 down. Even then never thought we would score twice.
Andrew - you are right - loads of possession but we weren't going to score in a month of Sundays. We were dire. Don't think Mr Ford was there was to see. What a contrast to mid week. I was very positive then now feel gloomy and feel Ryman is on the way.
We were never likely to score. We had chances, but to be fair, we never really challenged their defence or goalkeeper. Corners, free kicks within range were just wasted. So called ex pros like Chippy should have taken the conditions into account. He wasn't the only one. Muku tried to beat everyone on the park and claim man of the match ( as did others ) pass the bloody thing.............it's a team game for goodness sake. Fordy shouted at the last home game, ' don't wait for the bounce '.........so what happens, the pub team waited for the ball to sit very nicely thank you to their feet. Gargan wanted to chest the ball down every time...........nice one mate. It bounced off your chest to Bromley. If you must do it, get it right. Basic rule of football..........don't give it away. How many times have the team been told.........keep it tight, keep it yours. I read the reports from Stortford and spoke to Mark X about the game. He told me that we played a different game. So what went wrong? Answers please on the back of a £50 note. If we are to stay up and I'm sure that we will, we need to address certain criteria. First off....................get the midfield sorted. ( Coleman knew our weakness and just strolled in ) Second.......... Get a forward that can score bloody goals...........it's not rocket science...........it's the White posty things with a net on the back. Last..............get the team to gel together. We have the distinct lack of talking as a team. Don't play the Crystal Palace / Wimbledon way of old.........pass and use the talent that we have.
In the States I believe and it was known in advance as Mark says. I hope that this is the last time though as we need him. I still think he is the man for the job, especially longer term if we can get through this season
