Why would he have considered Bromley? They are a smaller club than Us and Any will get us back where we should be.

We should be spanking teams like Bromley, Hampton etc etc and i am sure we will this season consistently.

what a load of rubbish - he couldnt have played for bromley anyway because he was offered engaged terms by Welling and was under 24. Fordy would have had to given his permission and I can't see that would have happened!

Not sure about that anon.

Academic as he signed for us he is obviously happy to stay at Welling but if he had really wanted to go to Bromley for whatever reason I'm sure Fordy would have let him go as he wants players who want to play for the Club. The point of offering him terms was that if another Club came in for him we would get a fee.

So according to you Anon, if someone is under 24, whether they are on contract on not, if they are made an offer they can only leave for another club if granted permission ?? hmm.

If you want me to draw you a picture Im happy to smile.gif

perhaps you need to re-read the post; it says that he couldnt have PLAYED for Bromley as the article suggested and as we all know this only applies to players under contract
of course Muku could have signed for Bromley and if a fee was not agreed it would have gone to tribunal aka Kedwell - the point being if Bromley wanted him that badly why would they need to see him play a game before they sign him!
if you want me to draw you a picture....

we may still have to go to triubunal this season as Sinclair is yet to sign

that may be what you meant, but certainly not what you wrote ....

what a load of rubbish - he couldnt have played for bromley anyway because he was offered engaged terms by Welling and was under 24. Fordy would have had to given his permission and I can't see that would have happened!

"Fordy would have to give permission" - I think not. Smith, until he signed last week, was free to do what he wanted.

and why is that exactly ?? if he had decided he wanted to go to Bromley, as a free agent, he could have

if you read the article again the bromley manager says he was interested but that he wanted to see muku play  a game for them first - my point was and always has been that because he was offered a new contract and was under 24 then TO PLAY IN A GAME for Bromley FORDY WOULD HAVE HAD TO GIVE HIS PERMISSION.
if he wanted to go and Bromley wanted to pay a fee without seeing him then of course that could have happened

on another note it will be interesting to see how far he develops as a player this season because he has got bags of ability

I think we will see his true potential this season

Ford changed his position last year and at times (Newport being one) when they just couldn't handle him

I would like to see him on the wing it just depends what strikers we get in , if we only get one then he will be used in a three up front with Ellis.

Mr anon seems to know a fair bit. If Sinclair really wont sign after being looked after last season he can join

Danny Chapman, Tony Battersby as being complete t0$$ers who we are better off just letting go.

As far as I have heard there were several clubs sniffing around Tony Sinclair and Fordy likes the look of him though he has seen very little opportunity to assess him. I've not heard that he wants away but knowing the interest the Club did the sensible thing and offered him terms.

OK he may not have signed yet but that could be for any number of reasons and if he were to go to a higher level of football I don't see the problem. My view would be different if there was no lasting damage from his injury and he went to he went to another Conference South club or a lower League purely for the money.

Lets not get uptight over something which hasn't yet presented itself.

Lets hope we get £25,000 and 50% because come on lads lets admit it , it would be a severe blow to lose a player of Tony's calibre.

He is obviously destined for Cappello's team and Grays should pay what he is worth. Lets all pray Tony Stays, you dont replace legends like Townsend, Abbott, Finnan and Sinclair easily.
