finished 1-0

Had a little bet tonight, thought 5/6 was a silly price.

Not a bad performance tonight but not a memorable game.
Very strong Charlton team and it's no shame to lose 1-0 to them.
Thought Sheringham had a good touch and awareness about him, totally surprised to see his old man turn up in the exec lounge! Maybe he could bring his boots with him in future.

Obviously can't tell how things are shaping up just by this game. Not a great amount of last years players left, JT & Mucu were injured, Moore, Sinclair, Howe, Nwanze, Green played. Don't know about any others.

Had Michael Jordan in goal. Just googled to find out who he is, apparently he was quite good for the Chicago Bulls...
(he's actually an ex Arsenal trainee)

Plenty more friendlies to go, will be interesting to see how the team develops

First thing, I thought the crowd was good considering the weather - I honestly thought a lot of Charlton fans may be put off but fair play to them they turned up in numbers.

The Charlton friendly is never the best games to judge new players and trialists against due to the massive gap in class and the lack of possession we tend to have! But the number 5 centre back in the first half looked half decent alongside Mooro.

Second halfs teams display was promising and I thought the right winger - number 7 I think started to cause them some problems with his close control and speed, he was possibly a bit light weight.

Role on the rest of the pre season where we will be able to tell how the squads shaping up more accurately

Think the nr 7 was Seb Scoborough. Was with us for a bit last season (or season before?)and his family used to fill up the bottom corner of the main stand!

Ah yeah i remember now. He seemed half decent tonight - hopefully it wasn't just him rising to the occassion of a big crowd! We will see when he plays next against Thamesmead or Sittingbourne.

Very much work in progress as you would expect as Fordy brings his squad together.

With the exception of Sheringham we fielded a different side for each half and it looked very promising.

Shame about the weather but the attendance was still in excess of 2,000

I thought the 7 in the second half looked good too. I also thought both goalkeepers had good games.

The first half team looked better defensively and the second half team better in attack.

There were a few that stood out for me and all in all the trialists Andy has brought in look promising. Let's hope he can get the best of them signed up.
