According to the Official Web Site, Chris Moore and Robin Trott have both been released.   I trust that Andy Ford has signed an adequate replacement for Mooro.   He should have been retained as he would have been an oustanding example to the younger players.   No doubt, Andy has his reasons and it would be interesting to learn why Mooro was released.

It was always highly questionable, in my opinion, that Robin Trott was signed in the first place as he was past his sell by date and always seemed to be carrying an injury when playing for Margate last season.

I would imagine Sinclair is signing, Add him to Frankie Chappell also has Rob who can play center half, theres 3 players. Save on Mooros and Trottys wages and get another position covered.

Very sorry to see Chris Moore has been released. A definate fans favourite who helped get us out of trouble on more that one occasion. I certainly hope Andy has someone up his sleeve who is as good as Chris.

Good luck Chris and thanks for everything.

Sad to see Mooro go, but like i said in another thread he's legs probably wouldnt have lasted for a full season and does free up wages for another player! Wish him all the best.

Who will be captain now do we think? surely it should be someone who knows the club but with the wholesale changes this season there are few candidates.

If true then a terrible error by Ford. Fancy getting rid of the player of the year.

Mooro the last of the special charactors to play for the Club therefore the end of an era. Thanks for everything Mooro shall miss cheering you onto the pitch and still hope somehow it's not true.

Get a grip man ! "End of an era"  blah blah blah.

Chris Moore was a good servant to the club and a bloody nice bloke as well. However some people felt he was starting to creek a bit at the end of last season probalby due to the sheer volume of games he had to play to cover the inadequacies of other.

If Andy Ford thinks its time for fresh blood and younger personnel then that is his choice and he should be supported.

Good luck to Mooro wherever he ends up playing as I am sure he can still do a good job for someone next season.

Verye  sad to see Mooro go. Getting rid of the player of the year is big call by the manager. I would like to have seen him here for another season. He was a great servant for the club and last year was probably his best.

Lets face facts Mooro won player of the year because he was best of a bad bunch. It's a shame we did not sign him a few years earlier than we did.

I think we will miss his leadership skills on the field. He was more of a leader than Chippy last year. I thought he was worth another year but Fordy is building for the future.

I wouldn't be surprsied if he turns up at another team in our league during the season.

There's not much experience left in our back line now either (well what we have of it so far).

I always thought Mooro would make a good coach hopefully we may see him back in some capacity in the future.

If I wish to geta bit misty eyed over a player with more balls than most of the rest of them put together I shall whether you like it or not. I don't have to agree with everything Ford does either. Until I hear differently the matter looks as though it has been handled crassly. As for Mooro creaking blah blah blah get a grip yourself.

Spitey.             I agree with you 100%!   Some supporters have very short memories.   Chris Moore, who was a legend in my opinion, was a wonderful player and a loyal servant to the club.   I trust that Andy Ford has signed a quality replacement who will hopefully show the same commitment, character and courage that Chris Moore gave to every game.   Has anyone heard why Ford released Chris Moore.

John, Mooro explained himself in the Thank you from Mooro thread that Fprdy wants his centre backs to get the ball off the goalkeeper and pass it around, and he doesn't fit into this pattern of play basically!

Chris Moore, played for us, (Canvey Island) last night against Braintree Town.

He's played for us before, and he looked impressive last night. Judging by all your posts he's going to be missed. Having not seen him in a Canvey shirt for about 8 seasons, if we were to re-sign him what can we expect?

You will get a player who will basically win all your headers and lump the ball out of defence and clear the lines.

You will also get you a bloke who will get you a few goals form set plays.

You will also get a bloke who will give his all for your team.

Good luck

Cheers,

Chris only lasted 5 months at Canvey during his first spell, before returning to Billericay from where he was signed. With our management changes since last time, hopefully if we do sign him it will work out.

Just a quick note to confirm that Chris Moore officially became a Canvey Island player today and he's been looking excellent during pre-season.
