Much needed reality check today with a draw against a typical Connie South side - couple of hefty defenders who won all the balls in the air and/or hoofed them clear and a couple of quick players who made a nuisance of themselves.

We showed some good football moving the ball about with some speed in patches but also displayed a relative naivety particularly defensively. However the important thing is that we did not lose.

Not sure but I think it was Cobbs but it took a wicked deflection which is what beat the Keeper.

Bruno ,

Absolutely bob on re today, we played well and showed good in patches. Sam Tucknott caused us troubles and we got exposed on breaks. My biggest concern today was JT,sometimes he lacked what I guess is expected in commanding his turf.

The strikers need to start scoring rather than the goals coming from midfield.

We however played some fantastic football today, the types of which has never been seen at PVR for a long time. We looked comforatble on the ball and not afraid to spray it about going forward. This time last year I was not as hopeful for the team compared to what we have now. It shows massive potential and fair play to the management in getting this together.

Overall today a 1-1 draw was a fair result

The first half hour we looked nervous and lacked confidence. The last half hour though we were back to playing how we did on Tuesday.

Dissapointed with the result but Basingstoke look like the draw specialists this season, 3 games 3 draws.

agree with the comments here but i am concerned with the front two as it was the same as tuesday - they didnt win a single ball in the air and this needs addressing as there are times in a gamewhen you do need to hoof a ball up front and they need to be winning them

plus ive noticed on a few corners we've started taking them short as maybe this is a sign of the front men not winning much as on corners we have no big men who are willing to commit and get goals as mooro used to

Spot on J and Bruno - today was not the same team that played on Tuesday.
The first half we looked OK, but in the second half, we were lacking.
The midfield was lost - they went walkabout.  We were lucky to come away with a draw. We couldn't even contain the Blond Smurf Tucknott for most of the game.  Joe and Charlie played their socks off to get us a result, but weren't supplied by any decent balls in the box to make it count.
BKK - brilliant football today?  One or two training ground passes yes, but brilliant, no.
If we are to be a major contention in this league, then we have to overcome sides like today.  They were big in defence, but we have to be bigger.
Game plan change from now on.
Come on you Wings !!!!

I have to disagree about winning balls in the air. Joe Healy was winning the ball and flicking it on throughout the game. The goals will come from the front two in time.

Healy in my opinion was not winning the headers in the second half like he was the first. With Sol on the pitch i thought we might have had a chance to bag a winner had he managed to flick a few over the defense for Pinnock to run onto. Still i thought Healy did brilliantly holding the ball up and bringing the midfielders and wingers into play.

for me both the front men were winning nothing in the box - but healy looks good but im not convinced at the moment with charlie

but as said above the goals wil come and with them some confidence and im sure those two will score for free with the service they can get from the wings and some of our lovely build-up play
