Good report from Matthew. I thought we played well, especially in the second half. First half we were second to the ball too often and they could finish - couple of deflections didn't help our cause.
When we got our passing going we were the best I have seen this season. Healy's first goal was a great move - not convinced he was off side for the disallowed goal - definite penalty and Mucu hit the bar.
Much to be positve about - if we show the comittment we showed when we went 4-1 down then I don't think we have too much too worry about.
The ref though - we have had poor refs this season but for me they have consistently bad - not favouring one team. Todays ref was one of the most blatent homers I have ever seen. I also sat behind their bech in the 1st half and the cries of "ref" every time we tackled their players was shocking and has to border on cheating. The ref needed to be muchg stronger and should have at least had a word.
What a strange game!! I cant remember the last time I have come away from a Wings game losing 4-2 with a positive vibe. Eastleigh had 6 chances and scored 4 in the first half, every time they seemed to break they scored. I still think we are a commanding central defender and a big Danny Kedwell striker type from the finished article but we actually played very well at times and we will play alot worse and still win! Muku will make a big diference this season.
My one concern is we still have too many poses in the team and we lack someone in midfield who can take the gam,e by the sruff of the neck.
Sheringham was injured mate, Cobbsy rushed into the ground at 2.50pm after being stuck in traffic coming from Brighton. Cobbs was in the original starting line up but then it changed to Stevens and Cobbs on the bench.
Sonny was on the teamsheet as #3 but was held up in traffic and only arrived around 2:55. With the approval of the referee and Eastleigh his place was taken by Rikki Stevens and he reverted to being a sub.
