Sorry Kevin, I disagree. I and many others pay good money at the turnstiles to see Welling play. Against Worcester, we were dire, no, maybe we were worse than that.............pathetic springs to mind. If we are to challenge for anything this season, we need to get our act together. Fordy needs to get our players together, kick their butts and make them play. It's not rocket science, we are not good enough.

Season of transition. They are young and we knew it would go tits up. The Challenge for them and Fordy is to react in the right way and still be "up there" after xmas.
The club have increased the budget and there are still many more teams throwing much more money into the club.
Be patient, Rome and all that. At least Fordy comes out and says he wasnt good enough and we did that wrong, let him try and fix it hes been thee and done it.

Should Ford have signed a striker rather than a midfielder who has squeezed Cobbs out of midfield?
Unfortunately, Healey does not appear likely to score when spending half the time on the wing. Pinnock might as well be released as he doesn't appear to be rated.
I just hope we can win enough to steer clear of the drop zone. Worcester were not great but far too good for us and that bothers me.
Crikey, people get carried away far too easily. A month or so back and I'd seen some of the best football I'd ever seen Welling play in my 5 years of watching them. As Fordy said before everyone started getting carried away, we are a young team and it will take time to gel. Throw in a few injuries to key players and it is always going to be hard.
Fordy knows what he wants and how to get there, however he knows it will take time and states so week after week.
Whilst frustrating that the performances haven't been great recently, it's very early in the season and once we get Sinclair and Sheringham back I think things we start to turn back around.
As for "do the board and team take us for granted" - I somehow doubt they deliberately turn up and play badly, and if there are any who aren't putting the effort in Fordy will sort them out.

Surely Young Sol should get a few games , Why do we always have a lightweight striker given too many games like healy? Lets get Sol in the team and healy in the reserves to score a few and get some confidence.
Come on Fordy you want your men to get you out of it, youve back Healy to the hilt and hes let you down, get Sol in for a few games and Healy in the stiffs. This isnt a dress rehearsal. Also surely Chappell is better than Andrews???
You say that team bonding is worth a few points. In that case get them down to Spearmint rhino or take them for a day to the coast.

why oh why oh why dont you open your eyes. Everyone wants a good number 9, and number 1, and number 2, etc, but there aren't many top class strikers floating around 4 weeks into the season Im sure. If there is someone out there, wherever they play, that is an improvement on what we have and is within the clubs budgetary restraints then Im sure we'll sign them, Fordy is no mug, but there obviously isnt that person out there at the moment. When there is you'll know about it because he'll be running out onto the pitch for us.
Come On ! It has to be the best start of the season we have had for a long time ! Think of last season when we were fighting for relegation why werent we posting comments like 'welling till i die' wrote last year? Every team has its hiccups in the season and im sure we will get better as the season goes on.
Not quite true Wings 123. At the 10 match point we have less points on the board than in Ade's last 2 seasons, however, aside from the odd detractor. I believe that supporters have faith in Fordy's ability, and recognise that this season is probably one of consolidation a la his spell at Gravesend.
We are half a game away from a quarter of the league fixtures and have 15 points on the board. If we project that we would have 60 points at the end of the season which would see us top half.
The problem for Fordy will be keeping the best players (or getting a decent transfer fee for them which enables us to replace them without having to trawl the lower leagues for players). Its catch 22 really, you have an average budget and want to consolidate and build a team to reach the National without dropping straight back down so you have to develop youngish players alongside more established players but in doing so you make those same players more attractive to other clubs. In my opinion if he is to keep the best players Fordy has to instill in them faith in his management and vision, and of course finish in a decent position or pound notes are likely to tell.
As far as additional/alternative players go I agree totally with the opinion which has been expressed by Kevin. However, I still believe that Fordy will get more from the Healy/Sheringham partnership and that what we really need is an experienced midfielder to do the job that Daisy did in the recent past.

Surely the whole point is that Healy and Sheringham is NOT (and probably never will be) a partnership. Both are too similar in the way they play. However, as has been mentioned on this thread, good centre forwards don't grow on trees so we will have to trust AF and JD to bring the right person(s) in if and when they become available.
Don't agree that we need yet more midfield players - Sonny Cobbs best position is centre midfield and Quinn has looked a decent signing. A no nonsense big centre back would still be a prioirty for me after the way we have started shipping goals of late.
as bruno has said - i have TOTAL faith in Fordy's abilities and really am not worried - going through a blip but every team has them and it's better to get ours out of the way now than have it at the ends of the year when we are (hopefully) pushing for a play-off place
and this losing streak will be a good learning curve for our squad and they will come out of it stronger when we start winning again
My point about Healy and Sheringham is that unless you are very lucky and/or have plenty of pound notes to spend and can be very selective in your signings successful strike partnerships do not happen overnight they develop on the training pitch. If their partnership has not developed by mid season then I think Fordy has some hard decisions to make.

I do not normally respond to Anonymous Postings (Re Message timed at 13.09 dated 23.09) as I believe that the Sender generally has a hidden agenda.
Andy Ford has the full backing of the Supporters in view of his achievements for the Club so far but it is important that honest opinions should be expressed by true Supporters on this Forum.
Such opinions should not be interpreted as anti Andy Ford but are the true feelings of the Supporters exactly as we see the performances of the team which have been disappointing in the last five league games in which we have only taken 2 points.
At the end of the day, we all want Welling United to be successful!
