Down to 413 - I know it was a bad night - cold, footy on tv, Charlton playing etc but this crowd is worryingly low. I thought the crowd against Weston did not look as many as it said on the web site either. It is going to be difficult for AF to get new players based on these crowds - the money won't be there.
i never expect many on a tues to be honest - and sats was 450 odd according to the daily mail football magazine which is a bit worrying but you've got to remember charlton were playing and people these days would rather watch football on tv than support their local team
we will get big crowds for wimbledon and bromley though and ill be sponsoring a player to help give the club some cash and also buy extra beer in the clubhouse as well!
Maybe if they made the beer drinkable in the clubhouse a few more people would go in there rather than next door at Half & Full Time. The Fosters is trerrible and who knows what beer/ale they will have and how long it has been in the barrel!
i find that fosters is fosters and tastes pretty much the same anywhere! but if everyone went in the clubhouse then the club would make a lot more on matchday

I completely agree. I mean, flat coke from a bottle, warm, not even any ice in it to compensate! No wonder the majority go to a pub. If only we had Erith and Belvedere's clubhouse, then i'm sure people would spend money.
I take my son along to most Welling games and at 13 he pays £6.00 to get in, earlier in the season away to Hayes And Yeading they charged him £1.00. Now i dont know if these prices are set in stone but perhaps they could introduce some scheme where under 16s could get in cheaper and hopefully attract more younger support into the ground. A few years ago when he went to Uplands Primary school they used to be offered free tickets to Welling games as long as they were accompanied by a paying adult. I dont know if this scheme still exists but this is what got him intrested in supporting Welling in the first place.
Definetly, £6 for a child is quite steep. There should be a student rate too, once you hit 15 or whatever it's £10! You can go watch Fulham in some games for £10!
I take my son to a lot of away games - I don't think I have ever had to pay as much as it costs at PVR. I think the kids for a quid idea is a great idea and works well elsewhere.

you would have to pay me £10 to go anywhere near fulham and those stupid clappers they have started to use
CHARLTON WERE CHARGING A TENNER FOR ADULTS AND A FIVER FOR KIDS ON TUESDAY NIGHT. CHARLTON V BRISTOL C OR WELLING V ST ALBANS FOR THE SAME PRICE - NO CONTEST FOR THE NEUTRALS REALLY IS IT. MAYBE WELLING NEED TO DO SOMETHING SIMILAR FROM TIME TO TIME. EVEN BETTER WOULD BE TO MOVE BACK TO WEDNESDAY NIGHT GAMES LIKE WE USED TO. LESS COMPETITION FOR CROWDS THEN.
Actually for an adult and child it was cheaper at the Valley. Your point is valid - we do very little to encourage new people through the turnstiles. I think we can come up with ideas but it has all been rehearsed on this board many times before and little changes. We don't have the team around the Hobbins to do this work - getting out to local businesses, schools etc.
My young son was playing mini soccer last Sunday and on the next pitch was a mini soccer match with Wellling playing - wearing the club badge and kit. I wondered how many of them have been to PVR or even know where it is. Hundreds of young people are wearing Welling shirts every week-end - we need to get more of them and their families through the gates.
The encouraging fact about home attendances this season is that to date they are up by just over 6% on last season's average attendance and we have yet to meet AFC Wimbledon and Chelmsford.
Taking the first 7 games from last season and those for this season we are 14.8% up and last seasons figures included only 1 midweek match which always attract lower attendances as opposed to 2 this season.
Aside from Bank Holiday fixtures I believe we have only 1 more scheduled midweek home league game so let's hope the inevitable postponed Saturday fixtures are all away matches and we able to maximise attendances.

It is wayyyyyyyy to steep but that's how tight the club are. I am a Newcastle fan but i like to follow local teams and im always at some sort of football on saturday. I am 17 so i get into Charlton for £10 and Palace too.
The welling directors and board don't care about anyone apart from themselves. They talk to and look after eachother like family but they are so tight it's unreal. I still couldn't belive when i heard the prices for pre season games against Maidstone and Dover. FOOKIN TENNER.
I paid £1 for Palace V Barnsley on saturday rather that than Welling after all this is conference south football we are talking about.

Hang on, Havent they increased the budget? How are they tight also can you name me these directors at Welling that are tight please, i am unaware there is a board of directors.
I bet they think, why the fck do we bother trying when we get ripped to shyte. If they feck up have a go, if they try praise them. And yes its a valid thread and one i am sure they weill look at and see if they can offer a scheme during the winter. How about something like a mini season ticket for kids 10 games and pay for 6 if bought in advance or a family ticket, 2 adults and two kids for £20 (so free for kids if with 2 adults) might encourage more to come out. (Says he the betfair kid)
