I heard this rumour a while back and now it makes sense. The games Green didnt play because he was banned (for countless yellow cards, mostly for trivial issues) his wages were given to more deserving members of the squad who turned up and sat on the bench in his absence, and perhaps who didnt get on the field, but were still needed there just in case.
This has perhaps pi55ed Green off, and it would pi55 me off too, but he cant have it both ways - if he'd signed that contract he'd have had a stable income from the club, but if he's happy to potentially drop the club in it by signing elsewhere at any given moment throughout the season when a contract elsewhere is offered to him, why shouldnt the club drop him in it too by paying him adhoc ??
What I'll never understand is why Green wouldnt sign a deal - the club have never stood in the way of someone moving to a higher level if a bid came in (Barnes, Finnan, Craig BB), why would Green not sign on the condition he was allowed to move on if someone higher came in like he hoped ?? He's ended up the loser out of this for sure.
Well done Fordy, if there isnt full commitment shown by the player at all times then we are better off without them.
Agree with what you say Kev but you have to conclude that really Green has been pushed out. Not only was Green fozen out from the team but he was also given a pay cut.
We now have no natural wingers in the squad as neither Muku nor Fazza suit this role and so Ford is restricted in what formations he can use.

But Kev is right - if he had signed a contract then Andy couldn't have cut his wages when he was unavailable. I have absolutley no sympathy for the bloke who comes across to me as totally selfish. We had no natural wingers when Ellis was playing as far as I concerned. Had some bloke we gave the ball away a lot, rarely tracked back and bottled out of challenges - but a winger - I don't think so.
I have to agree that I don't think he was pushed out.
As with all of these things we don't know what goes on behind the scenes, however playing for a Sunday league team whilst playing for Welling and then not makeing any contact with the club is ridiculous.
I think he got what he deserved.
What baffles me is why players behave like this - surely the ambition of anyone playing semi-pro is to make is as a professional footballer in the football league - and his actions show he must have no ambition.

Faz is very good on the wing, though playing a lot on the left (when he is naturally right footed) and has played wing-back in his career. Maybe the Wings preferred style does not include wingers??
I recall Kevin Hales complaining about Kevin Dennis disappearing without contacting him but I guess he used his one phone call to contact his family or solicitor!
