Ryan Johnson has been the best find so far this season.
I think we are going quite nicely we have had our blip which every team has once a season and I would be disapointed not to get in the play offs, which is a credit to Fordy and the team.
I think Sinclair is playing well after that injury, well done to him. Overall we are playing better football and let's face it we could have gone down last year so i'm happy. My only concern is the amount of players coming and going. I'd love to see the same team twice in a row - has it happened? I suppose as long as AF is getting the right people in i'll live with it and he has certainly done that recently with Ademola and Loui.
Off the pitch we must be the only club that gets rid of our commercial manager and then get an increase in advertising hoardings! There seems to be loads more now?
I'm happy with Welling so far this season after they got over their dodgy spell. My favourite player so far has to be Charlie Sherringham, when he can be bovered to make an effort that is :D Some of the other players I've liked have left the club, so won't mention their names.
Andy Ford seems to be doing a good job and i expect Welling to finish in the play offs (they won't go straight up) , and as long as there aren't too many more personel changes, i look forward to a lot more coherent performances on the pitch at Park View Road this season.
An honourable mention must go to the home support! They always make me laugh :D
just have to say we are playing some really great football and i dont usually buy into the "we pay to be entertained" as my entertainment comes from getting 3 points!
but i have to say that we are playing some really good football and is like a bonus to winning games!
GaryH, It may seem that we haven't had a settled side at any time this season but the same 11 started the first 4 games of the season. We then had a somewhat prolonged spell when there were many changes but since the Newport game (ignoring the County Cup game and the Totton replay for which I don't have details at the moment) we seem to have a settled side again though in the last match there were 3 changes to the starting 11 (Baker had gone, McEntegart suspended and the other?). Lets hope we are now settled though as loans expire this may change.
The prolonged spell when we had many changes and of course the changing of positions for tactical reasons is what may have generated the feeling that we have never had a settled side and I must admit my general feeling was that this had been the case since the first 4 matches until I looked at the facts.

The number of different players used may suggest otherwise Bruno.
Stats can be deployed to justify any view or arguement.
I think Mr Ford is still tinkering looking for players with the right attitude along with ability. He wants perfection and there is nothing wrong with that. If we were to make the play-offs and get promoted, would we really want to see a summer of wholesale changes again?
never personally had a problem with loanees coming in and having reshuffled sides
if they come in and do a job that's fine and ford seems to be replacing players that are called back with similar ones eg anderson with moses
most teams at this level without pots of money will do the same and im sure by the end of the season we will be there or there-abouts with regard to the playoffs
ps correct me if im wrong about anderson - i assume he was on loan and we didnt sign him?
Replica Shirt, You can't deny facts and the fact is that at the start of the season we had the same starting 11 for 4 matches and we have had almost the same starting 11 for the last six weeks.
I agree that there has been a high turnover of players, with 35+ having made first team appearances so far, but many of those have played very little part, having been drafted in when we were short or loanees while Fordy was trying to find players.
I believe that overall Fordy has done a good job though I think he panicked a bit and made a few poor signings in desperation when things were going badly - but he soon outed them. My only real concern would be that our keeper who is apparently here for the rest of the season is a loanee and if what was reportedly said by Fordy at the time of his signing was true there is no prospect of him becoming a Welling player.

Bruno i think Masters has already shown his committment to Welling by saying he likes it at PVR and is happy to be here. Ok hes a pro at Southend but this way Andy gets someone who is better than we could get , getting pro training and coaching and wants to play for us and has been signed for the season. You never know if Masters doesnt make it in the League we may have a keeper for the future.
I think Andy has sorted the keeper situation for the best and am happy with it. I hope Masters plays his socks off and carry s on enjoying at welling. He will spread the word when he goes back that Welling is a good place to go on loan.

I agree that Andy has the spine of the side with MM, Charlie, Johnson, Cobbs and Sinclair but I am slightly worried about our strikers as Charlie isn't establishing a partnership with anybody. Baker-gone, Stevens- sh*t, Loui-versitile and not always up front, Ademola good but Brentford could call him back at any time. The more changes up front we have, the harder we'll find it to score.
Personally, with the size of our squad and the amount of loanees we have, the playoffs are our goal but expect us to find REALLY difficult if we get promoted.

Haven't seen as many games as I would have liked but quite encouraged on the whole. We do seem to go from good performance one week to poor the next which might be because we are a predominantly young side.
I think Sinclair has come back well from his injury and I have been particularly impressed with Johnson and, of late, Parkinson. I'm not sure we will score enough goals to be a play off side and I would also like to see Cobbs more involved as I think he is wasted at left back.
problem is that cobbs is the best left back we have - with cbb leaving cobbs was always going to make that position his own
and he would obviously go to midfield if not playing left-back but we have adequate cover for midfieid - blackburn, quinn, johnson, loui, ming , parkinson
i just feel we have a spine of the team as said in above post and are getting players around that spine and agree with striker situation as we need a bit more consistency with whos playing but healy wasnt up to the job and did baker actually sign for us? im not sure what happened in this situation to be honest
and everyone needs to be patient as this is a building year and if we make playoffs it will be a great achievement
