Kevin I'm a student and despite not paying taxes I still have to pay my rent, bills, travel expenses, living costs, uni books adn equipment etc. Once this is done I have very little money left over for the extra stuff in life like watching Welling. So it's easy for you to say we shouldn't get cheaper entry but if you want to tap into the large number of student aged people in the local area you have to consider this as an option.
Did some research and at least 17 Connie South teams have student admission prices. Some others might include students under the concessions banner but they dont actually say on their websites.
I see what you mean Stafford but i think he has said that he may have been misquoted "typically journalistic" so he may have said that well done to those that came but im p1ssed off with those that couldnt be bothered.
He did mention the FA Cup exit meant a CUT in budget, but surely thats down to him he wasnt there and his team went out, so i wouldnt say oh because we went out we need more fans to get more money for players... I think him missing the FA Cup debacle he has to hold his hands up and say he let us down. Hopefully next season he wont go awol during the season.
When i was a bookie . I couldnt get Cheltenham Off, Grand National, The Derby, World Cup, European Championships, Ryder Cup ETC ETC ETC. So my own personal opinion is hes the manager he should be there on match days in the season end of story.
Hes pretty straight talking and has said if anyone wants to know anything go and ask him.
At least you know where you are with him. I like people who are up front.
I think he will challenge as being one of the best Managers we have ever had if he gets support (without going all in gung ho) .

Find the journalistic bit a bit suspicious as was it not the same organ who published his first thoughts on it after the first Trophy game. They sounded pretty similar from what I recall so you'd have thought he'd have taken the opportunity of 'correcting' the first observation or making the journalist aware that next time he didn't want to be reported that way.
I don't mind him saying it as he sees it as long as he doesn't mind us doing the same.
As I said, clean slate, start again and we all know where everyone is coming from going forward.

everyone has to make sacrifices, no-one has a bottom-less pit of money. When I cant afford to go to the game I dont go, just like I cant afford to go and buy a Ferrari. So Im sorry but I have no sympathy at all, I commend you for staying on in education as most kids now dont bother and just claim benefits, but if we cant afford £10 Im sorry but you cant go. Simple as.
I see what your saying Kevin but in light of what Fordy has said isn't introducing a student admission price maybe a way of getting more younger potential future fans through the gates. Some may be put off by the £10 entrance fee.
Whenever i ask my mates - who are also students - if they fancy coming down they always look surprised at having to pay a tenner to watch non-league football. If anything it would be a way of getting some fresh faces who hoepfully might catch the bug and keep coming for the rest of their lives.
