Would 20 people be prepared to pay £25 a head or 25 people £20 a head?
Is this not something that the WPC could (should) subsidise? A 'legends' night should recoup a proportion easily enough.
Billy, The decisions about what WSU spends the funds which it raises are made by those who attend its meetings. In May Andy Ford attended a WSU meeting and it was clear that if he were to establish a side which would be competitive in the Blue Square South his budget had to be greater than that which the Club could offer, despite this having been increased from the 2007/8 season. In the light of that situation WSU, as has previously been announced, determined that this season they would focus solely on raising funds to supplement the playing budget available to Andy Ford.
On their website http://www.wsu.org.uk/ WSU have a Talk to Us page where fans can contact them with suggestions and any fan is welcome to attend their monthly meetings where they can contribute to the discussions and raise issues relevant to the raising and use of funds. The next meeting will be at 7.30 pm on Thursday 12 February 2009 in the Executive Lounge at PVR and you and/or any other Welling United fan are more than welcome to come along and contribute or merely observe.
There are several fund raising events coming up and these will be publicised on the WSU website and will be posted on the forum.
