A very good shot stopper but makes the occasional clanger that has certainley cost us points. Coming off his line is also a scary moment as he often gets no where near the ball.
Decent bloke though and I personally wish him well.
Have to say we're all pretty pleased that Jamie has signed for us on a deal to the end of next season.
What are your thoughts on him ?
He's been pretty much faultless for us so far.
Top keeper for us and top man too pleased he's fixed up and for next season too. A fine servant and far more consistent than given credit for. Bit unlucky here in the end after three good years. To be fair our loan keeper (a professional) is pretty good too! Jamie Turner will do well for you.
Personally gutted he's left as I belive at this level he was one of the best. Yes he dropped a few howlers but what keeper doesnt. Personally think its a bad move from Welling as rightly pointed out Masters could go back at any time if Southend were to suffer injury(s) in that department. Plus next season we need to find someone and finding someone as consistant and loyal (3 seasons is a long time at this level) will be tough.
Pretty much my view too mini as I said when the loan was arranged.
I know it will have been wrench for Jamie to leave PVR but once the die was cast there could only be one outcome and I was pleased to see how well he had settled into the Ramsgate side when he played at Thamesmead.
As for the Rams in my opinion you've got yourself a quality keeper who will show great loyalty and will do a great job in goal. His record in the League for us this season was (15 League games, 7 clean sheets and he had to pick the ball out of the back of the net 16 times (7 of which came in a disastrous 2 consecutive match spell). If you go through earlier posts you will see reference to it not being solely down to JT but with a defence which I believe has been enhanced by the signing of Lee Protheroe since he last played for us the on loan professional keepers record in the League has been 5 games, 0 clean sheets and 7 goals conceded. Nuff said
