Good luck to the bloke, served us well whilst at PVR and it talks about the lure of a long term deal was a clincher. Reading what JGFC posted recently re Dover I'm sure the lure of a good lump of wedge was helpful in getting him as well
Bods the same as Keds just wants the pound note. Let him go. I wouldnt even wish him well to be fair he pi55ed off at the first opportunity.
Just hope that if dover get the buckets out and hes looking for a few quid we dont take him back. No allegience to anyone and certainly weve had many players that have "served us better" .
Hes been round the clubs a bit and despite thinking he would get back in the league he hasnt.
I certainly wont cry if Dover get back in bother. Nor any of their players that chose to go their while the dosh was there. Its entirely upto them where they play but i only wish we as a club didnt pick them up when it goes pete tong if they walk out for a few quid more when we needed them.

jgfc, that actually sounds like your not to happy bod did not join welling, or another who h8's to see another kent team doing well????.... as for the dosh, the dafc playing budget is set out at the start of the season, bigger the attendance at home matches, sponsorship etc, the bigger the budget, its hardly dovers fault ur home attendances wont budget 4 the better players is it,,,,,,or are you afraid dover might just and i mean MIGHT if they get to conny south out do your lot,,,,,,,

Also those who stumped up when Dover appealed for donations to stay in business but just a few years on are throwing conference premier wages at their squad in the Ryman!
As i said players can go where they like, clubs can pay what they like trying to buy success and lets be very honest , that is what is going on here. After the financial struggles previously, the CVA the appeals... is this prudent? Would fans and football lovers dig deep again if the club got into strife ?
Are we worried? I think what Ford is achieving on probably 50% of Dovers budget in a higher league deserves far more praise and is ethical.

Dover for ever, congrats on the abuse, I never lose the ability to wind up Dover. The swearing was much appreciated and its great to know that your intellect, grammar and ability to converse are all a kin to a knuckle dragger.
Move along till next year please.

Anonymous You want to know why id rather watch my greyhound than football... know your history.
Also i spend more in one day watching any of my greyhounds race at Hull, Coventry, Nottingham and Sheffield than you do watching your team in a season...
take Sunday night... in coventry in an open race....
Train £40, Hotel £65, £25 in taxis, drinks, food and expenses at track and then a £350 winning bet on this little lady in an open race http://youtube.com/watch?v=Zb95PLDLUhc
PS there will be a time when football comes back to compete with the dogs but i will tell you now... If my dog is in a top open race or comp and welling are playing say Bolton Away in the cup then the dog will come first. Sad but the days when my complete day revolved around Welling disappeared when i felt i was having the P taken out of me by the club, as i said its coming back as they are trying hard to do things right and to compete but one swallow doesnt make a summer etc and if you go back so soon and then next year budget cut etc etc your back where you started , oui? . Sadly with regard to the football with 9 racing dogs now and more coming Welling will have to fight to compete for the buzz that the dogs give me at the moment. i now travel as far as i did to watch a 90 minute spectacle for a 28/29 second spectacle.
Its off again to Sheffield saturday night for me .

Greyhound racing is VERY MUCH like making love to a beautiful woman..
You spend lots of money and there is lots of stroking and encouragement leading up to lots of shouting and screaming in 30 seconds of passion and often it all ends in a massive high

Well its no wonder you only have 50% of Dover's budget if all Welling supporters are as 'loyal' as you ! Probably explains why you havent even got your own ground !!!
The one whos running against one of the favourites for the 2009 Greyhound Derby on Saturday at Sheffield (who is in the video that won on Saturday) OR... one of the other 8?

ben, they probably do say it, and no ones trying to upset you or other loyal decent welling supporters, but i guess a club always has its hangers on who talk drivel, look at jgfc, talks well for himself, obviously not the rest of you, i mean he is more interested in a dumb dog that chases a stuffed rabbit lol
Probablemente el amor a su perro más que las mujeres de todos modos, me gustaría se han sumado a este foro mucho antes, muy divertido, gire la manija y ver el chimpancé, morder,

Hanger on?

he more than likely has a day of, but your a complete plum all the time
This merely goes to show what a poor job you are doing if he is still a 'complete' plum. After all, you have only been trying to take the pith for most of this week......
to get back to the thread Bods has signed for Dover - big deal. He made it quite clear when he left us he had no loyalty to the club by not signing a contract so that he could chase the pound note despite Ady having rescued his career when he was released by the Gills. Why is anyone so concerned several non progressional but lucrative moves down the line?
Yes I'm sure Bods could have done a job for us on the pitch but quite rightly we are not prepared to put the clubs future in jeopardy to satisfy the self interest and wage demands of any one player.

He made it quite clear that he wanted to be free to play at a higher level whan joining us. Nobody complaineed when Daysie and Keds joined Grays, why the animosity when he did? How do you know if he would have come to us if we had gone in for him at the end of his Eastleigh loan?
Replica, There was a very significant difference with Keds and Daisy - they were never out of contract with Welling when wearing the shirt. They were offered and accepted contracts offered by Grays rather than those offered by Welling which I have no problem with. Bods and Baker refused to sign contracts offered because to remain non contract players meant they were free to move at the drop of a hat with no transfer fee to compensate the Club.
Some of us are old fashioned enough to believe in something called club loyalty which the insistence on being a non contract player for purely personal gain does not sit comfortably with. In the past signing contracts has not prevented players progressing in the game as if the player is good enough Clubs are prepared to pay a transfer fee.

your right stafford, and it proves a few points... 1/ your plum heads only friend
2/ you bite to quick
3/ i guess your his boyfriend lol or relatated to a tw.at
i should of joined this site long ago. oh such fun. wind the handle n release, theres bound to be 2 d,icks that bite lol
1) Never heard of the notion of my enemy's enemy being my friend.
2) I can only presume from some of the drivel you post that
you are accustomed to people not responding on your own board. We tend to be more community spirited on here and indulge the debate with a little more invention.
3) Whilst the practices of Romney Marsh may have permeated Dover, they haven't got this far north yet.
So, to get back to the earlier point, how do the local businesses that were shafted by your CVA's view this new found largesse? Or would that be deemed far too sensible a comment for you to respond to.
I see your point. Unfortunately, the advent of agents at this level has not helped.
It is a difficult balancing act for managers. Pennock knew that Bod wouldn't sign a contract but did not look to replace him so was always in danger of losing him.
My view is that he has shown us a lot of respect when playing against us and I would only have been angered by him had he left us for another club of the same standard or lower than us, or had agreed to sign a contract and then go back on it.
That is why I have little time for Trebble, Chapman, Baker etc.
Bods was going to jack the game in and Adie stepped in boosted his ego got him playing and Bods just went for a pound note sh1tting on the club that rescued him and gave him a wage.

Keds wanted full time footy at a higher level same as Daisy but both signed contracts at welling and i think Both would be welcomed back in opposition or to rejoin the club.
People like Bod and Baker would not be so warlmly welcomed back IMO.

My understanding was that Pennock took Bod on knowing that he still hoped to be a professional footballer, not that he was about to give up. I think and agent (and/or his father) persuaded him not to sign a contract so that he would be free to take up full time football if offered.
If he had insisted in a clause in a contarct saying that he would be released should he be approached by a full time club, would that have made a difference?
A lot of supporters would welcome him back but accept that signing a wide player is not a priority at the moment.
