I have been having a slight issue with the Fans Forum for a while, every time I log on, I still get the little green face telling me there are new posts in the thread, even though I may have read them all the day before.
Since I log on both from home and at work on some days, is that what's causing this to happen? On our fishing club forum, there is an option to mark threads as read, so we can fix this kind of thing, any way to add something similar? It takes while to keep checking off stuff I've already seen a couple of times a week.
Other than that, it's a great forum and I'm still enjoying keeping up with the news.
The problem is indeed the fact that you log on on different PC's. Indeed if you don't sign in you are treated as another identity even though you are on the same PC. I am not aware of there being a 'read' facility available.
Some investigative work into other forums was undertaken during the summer break but we would have had to start afresh and would have lost the history.
Will no doubt have another look during the summer.
Glad you are enjoying the forum.

I neglected to mention in the last post that the green face indicates that the thread has been viewed since you last logged in and not necessarily that there have been new posts. The way to see if there have been new posts in a thread is to look at the time and date in the final column of the index.
Hope that helps rwfaz
