Next season's squad

Seeing how last night's defeat ended any faint hopes of the play offs, attention will now turn to next season. Who out of the current sqaud would you sign up for next season?, who would you ask to come back for pre season? and who would you thank for there effort but let go?

Here is my squad

Ming sign up
Andrews sign up
Sinclair sign up
Matty Mc let go
Mitten pre season
Parkinson sign up
Quinn let go
Blackburn pre season
Baker sign up
Sheringham sign up
Hurrell pre season
Faz pre season
Cobbs sign (I think he will go though)
Johnson sign up
Muku let go
Protheroe pre season
Stevens pre season
Chappell let go

I dont want to take any attention away from the lads this season and I hope we win every single remaining game

Sign them all up.

Nobody's let us down this year and the team seem to get on well together unlike some previous years.

Better to have a settled side than bring in loads of new guys.

I did think the same as Alan S but at the end of the day we have fallen just short and will need to strengthen a little if we're serious about play offs.

Chappell and Matty M and the only players that are sure to be released.

I'd sign up Mucu on non-contract forms and have a look at him. Assuming he didn't want anything more permanent.

I'd keep Mitten as a competition with another keeper.

But then value form money comes into it.

I'm sure though some players will suprise us by departing when we don't expect them to.

Although, I think this is as good as it gets. I just don't think we have the funds to push on to the next level that's why we're going to fall short for the 3rd time.

I know that we all have our different opinions, but FFS, how can you say get Blackburn, Faz, Protheroe and Hurrell in for pre - season? What planet are you on? They have been really great for us this season and hopefully will sign contracts for 09/10

None of the players knew each other until last summer so it cannot be a surprise that we have been inconsistent. Keep them together where possible and they can only get better.

Don't think Mcentegart will stay as there seems to be a clash with AF. Wouldn't keep Protheroe either as he seems a bit injury prone and can't afford that in a small squad. If Quinn's legs have "gone" then he might also be on his way. Can't see Sheringham and Baker playing as a pair at all - if the former does stay then the later goes for me. I like Faz as a player but he might be considered as a luxury player by AF and JD ? Ming is a hell of a prospect but he needs to get his head right - if he moves on I would like to think we would be compensated.

There is the basis of a good squad here already and if (and it is a massive if) AF and JD can persuade them to sign on for another season.........

I would also like to see Cobbs back in central midfield as he would add power and stength to that area and he could easily score double figures to help out the strikers.

i was thinking the same thing and im glad someone else posted it!!

i would let ming go for attitude problems and muku as he is always injured but apart from that im happy with more or les everyone

and i would keep quinny as he has been a rock and he is experienced - which is lot we have lacked towards the end of this season imo
